I could have handled a loss with being happy for Doughty, but that was just our last three years in a microcosm as Kings fans.

I had a terrible feeling McDavid would end this one. What a freaking bum.

As if McDavid scoring the OT winner was not bad enough, it’s even worse that I see Getzlaf out there celebrating with his fellow Canadians.

Right up until leaving McDavid wide open, that was some of the best hockey I've ever seen.

What miffed me in 2010 and in this tournament is that in both cases, each team won once (with the US winning in the preliminary rounds both times). Yet, Canada gets the gold / trophy because their win came in the title game. I think they should do like the old Canada cup with a best of three final.

That was an excellent game in which both teams had their chances are were equally matched. Congratulations to Team Canada for the win.

Also the singer of the American National Anthem was truly outstanding (as was the singer for the Swedish National Anthem when USA faced them).

Of all people to score the game winner, it had to be McDouche. That sucked. Other than the outcome it was a really great game. Both teams had great chances but were stopped by great goaltending & great defensive play. Give credit to Binnington. I didn’t think he should’ve been picked, much less the starter. But he made great saves in that OT. And I guess I’m happy for Doughty but it still feels like a gut punch. Beating them in the preliminaries was good, just like it was in 2010. But winning the final game would’ve been better. I hope we can do it next year in the Olympics when it really counts. I know not everything’s been perfect this tournament. Especially the injuries. But I think it’s been incredible. It’s created such a buzz. I hope the league can carry that momentum into the final stretch of the season & into the playoffs.

On the flip side, I'm not impressed with Trocheck. Silly tripping penalty, coughing up the puck a couple times.

Edit: Also, we need to start winning some face offs.

I'll guess he was on the team for his PK abilities which I will say he and Miller did do well on but I still can't believe Tage Thompson couldn't get on this team. In a short tourney goal scoring is a premium and leaving at least him and Caufield off especially seeing Kreider glued to the bench puzzles me.

The infamous puck watching of Matthews, (never looking over his shoulder) on the game winning goal for Canada, should be long remembered by the USA fans.
