All Things:AMC television

I just started watching TWD a few days ago. Just thought I'd try one episode out of curiosity (Zombies? Really?), and I'm so totally addicted. Why did no one tell me the show was awesome?

Wait. Was the fact that almost the entire world was watching not enough to make you curious? Go back and rewatch a few seasons. This has been a strong start, but TWD rarely sticks the landing. At least they seem to finally be learning from their mistakes...but lets see how it all turns out first.

I had no idea the whole world was watching since you say "zombies" to me and I start falling asleep. But I've been pleasantly surprised. And I started with the first show of the first season, so I'm just staying away from any discussion of anything which happened recently, in case I make it that far.

So far a very strong start to this season. Will see how if they have split story lines for awhile with Beth and Abraham's group. Great episode last night.

Wow your in for a ride. At least with binge watching you don't have to wait week to week during some of the slower parts of each season.

Yeah, you are gonna want to stay out of here then. I make it a point to watch Walking Dead on Sunday nights as close to live because, like Breaking Bad...it is almost impossible to avoid spoilers. You may enjoy it more watching at a binge, if you watched in real time there are technically 2 'finale's' every season. The holiday break and end of season...the long waits after sometimes dodgy results were killers. Don't know if you are aware of behind the scenes backstory, but the show has been hard on showrunners. The current one has done a lot of good, and as I said earlier, the show seems to have learned from it's mistakes.

Later on in the interview, when Glenn was asked about his favorite horror movies, he actually chose to praise AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ instead. “Like a year ago somebody turned me on to ‘The Walking Dead,’ which I only remembered as an indie comic back in the day y’know?” says Danzig. “So now I watch it all the time…I wrote a song for them and I think they’re going to use it on the soundtrack, or it’ll be on the show. Maybe I’ll go on ‘Talking Dead,’ which would be cool.”

You know...they sure do like the cliffhanger all of a sudden. Whoever it is, Darryl sure seemed a mite...perturbed. I don't like them not showing Carol. I can't shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen to her.

I don't like it either :(

I'm going to be so pissed if something happens to Carol. She's the best character on the show and has shown the most growth out of anyone. I'm mildly curious about what happened to Beth, but I don't want an entire episode about it. She's the world's most yawnworthy character.

regarding the episode, Bob's death was really good and really sad and that "tainted meat" scene was sooooooo great.

Thought last night was an excellent episode. I thought Bob was going the way of Dale (for those who read the comics) all along. And love the "TAINTED MEAT! HAHA!!"

Still wondering when they will jump the shark as AMC is want to do ...

I loved Bob's attitude the whole time. Shame we didn't get to find out what the effect of partaking of TAINTed meat(giggle) had on folks. The one guy who almost refused to put his gun down...wasn't that the dude that Tyrese tooled up proper? I assumed he beat him to death, Maybe not. As far as Beth...I thought she had some nice growth last season in those episodes with Darryl. I will allow a full episode without complaint cause that teaser at the end drew me in. I really hope they can keep up this pace because I hesitate to say it, it's the most interesting the show has been. You really get a feeling of movement, instead of the wheel spinning that has gone on in the past. I get them splitting the teams...red mullett and Rick have a hard time coexisting. But I don't like Maggie & Glenn being seperated. Kinda liked Glenn's new big boy pants moment. I sooooo wanna know who is in the bushes with Carol. I think if anything was really wrong with her Darryl would have been a lot more frantic.
And the priest...gotta go gotta go.

Yep, that was the guy Tyreese beat up. I thought he had beat him to death too, considering that's what he made it seem like to Carol when she came back with the rest of the gang. Guess he's not as "back" as we thought.

I also don't really understand why handlebar mustache (I honestly can't think of his name) wanted Glenn and Maggie to go with them so badly. I know he traveled with Glenn for a little bit but it just seemed sort of weird that he suddenly wanted them part of his team so much.

Ugh

The only thing I would add (as I agree with everything) is season one is still the best season to me. I have watched it a couple of times since it first aired and it is just some great television and they have struggled to maintain what that season set up. Now I will say Gimple has gotten them back on track and I have thought the episodes this season have been great. I just can't get over the Bob "tainted meat" moment was just sos great!

Last nights TWD was a little disappointing...but necessary. Can't just ignore Beth, but I still think what they came up with was a little soft. What is with the casting too. Everyone who was in a cop/security uniform was terrible. One dimensional and completely unlikable. The lead chick, who was holding things together, could have been painted a little more sympathetic. The Doc was ok...but could have been better as well. The rapey guy(and that was unpleasant) was particularly bad...shoulda been twirling a mustache. Ok, well that's out of the way...and hopefully Noah is who they brought back...still more story to tell there obviously, but I don't think we will see a whole episode again.
As far as next weeks, I think we need a resolution to the Eugene storyline. First of all...they will never find a cure. Secondly, it's a little stale. Might be time to pare down the cast a little and focus more on the primaries.

Hard to keep up the momentum from the first three episodes, specially when story arcing to a completely different storyline. I agree it had to be done but definitely disappointed in that episode. Question is Carol really hurt or does she know Beth is in there and trying to setup a rescue?

Totally agree and thought Noah saying, "we've got walls" in Richmond was an interesting tidbit. Going north seems to be the call for all folks. Agree that next week appears a culling is coming.

Not sure that Carol and Beth get out without help. I see Darryl bringing back Noah and then a full blown assault to get the groups remaining people at the hospital. Reading Collider this morning someone said Noah told Beth that the lead chick controlled the walkers(??!!). Can someone explain this one to me? I must have missed something.
