This has been terribly disappointing. It's basically the same theme repackaged week to week.
Loser: 'Low Winter Sun'
The huge "Breaking Bad" ratings have made the low ratings of its new Sunday night partner look even worse by comparison. Sunday night's episode lost a whopping 75 percent of the "Breaking Bad" audience leading into it, and an incredible 83 percent of adults 18-49. It's like ABC's failures at using "Lost" to launch a new show behind it: when "Breaking Bad" is over, its fans only want to watch, talk and think about "Breaking Bad" some more. AMC has tried to use previews for other shows — first "Breaking Bad," then mega-hit "The Walking Dead" — as bait to lure viewers into watching until at least the first "LWS" commercial break, but it hasn't helped. AMC isn't in the habit of pulling or moving its shows in mid-season, but we may be at a point where "LWS" either trades places with "Talking Bad," or perhaps gets pushed to Saturdays in favor of an instant "Breaking Bad" replay. Even if AMC stays the course all season, the audience has rejected the show, and many critics have dismissed it as a watered-down imitator of all the gritty anti-heroes that have preceded it (including the one that AMC airs an hour earlier).
