All Things:AMC television

I don't think they have built up anything enough for it to be resolved in the finale other than people arriving at Terminus, unless Daryl's new buddies get a lot of screentime in the next episode. The characters traveling in small groups is working so well I would rather they don't meet back up anytime soon. If I was running things, I'd make the spinoff happen by arranging for half the cast to get stuck on some train and carried hundreds of miles away, never to see the other half again.

I think Carol was willing to live with either choice Tyrese made at the end, and was actually somewhat hoping he would use the gun. He had to forgive her, though, because after everything that had just happened, there would be no humanity in the world left to survive for.

I will not be surprised if Carol is the gratuitous cast death in the finale, though, if there is one. Also, either of Southland's buddies, but neither of them are major enough to make an impact (not that one won't die). Tyrese's sister and the other guy with her are also possibilities. Maybe Beth.

I really hope the writers aren't dumb enough to kill off the best character on the show. Carol 4 lyfe <3

So... no Terminus in the comics? I was getting some laughs on Twitter tonight from some people's guesses, and then 'people had to go there' and I really hope 'that' doesn't happen. Vague enough? :)

Not a great episode, and they kinda blew the Glaggie (or Mlenn if you prefer) reunion. Already tired of the Darryl side step too. This show is gonna find a way to make the most beloved character on the show...irrelevant. They have to wrap that up and soon.

I dunno.... It seems pretty relevant that he's unknowingly on a manhunt for Rick. I'm sure that'll lead to some sort of a cliffhanger type ending for the season. I hope we find out what happened to Beth next week. There's speculation at home about her whereabouts, but don't want to spoil it if our thoughts are correct.

[TV] "The Walking Dead" Finale Bombshell Looming? -

Keep reading how life is going to get more difficult for Rick. Leading to speculation that he is going to die. Don't think so, but he may be wiping lefty from the end of this season.

I actually wondered to myself yesterday if AMC/Gimple/Kirkman would be gutsy enough to kill Rick off ... tend to agree with your left handed comment though ... seems more plausible then death ....

Would not want to see rick die, but also didn't want to see Hershel be killed off either. As reader of the comics and watcher of the show whatever happens I want the storyline not to follow the comics too much. Season 3 was a letdown in my regards because it was too predictable and took too long to get to the battle for the prison episode.

I have liked the second half of this season so far as we do get a true look at the destitute the survivors in the smalls groups living day to day.

Also one thing I never understood from the comics or the TV show is how does anyone in their right mind believe Eugenie's BS. If someone had contact with the government I would be demanding to get more info and I would not buy for a second any of that classified crap he spews.

For me they have just been nailing it every week in this half-season. I was a little worried when Glenn had to be a moron and venture into a dark enclosed tunnel and then not retreat when he saw the zombies (because it would have killed him to catch up to Maggie a day later, and also what if she went around and you ended up ahead of her with no idea of it), which led to his companion about to be killed in just the most retarded way possible. Thankfully that didn't happen, and by having characters actually die on this show, it earned Maggie and Eugene and company rescuing him in the nick of time.

The Daryl parts were good, and it looks like JD was right about Daryl falling in with those guys, because he went from not even playing the "claimed" game to jumping ahead of the other five. I didn't even realize they were pursuing Rick and now we have some foreboding to last the week, although it is going to cut Daryl's falling in with them short.

That brief bit at the end in Terminus had an element that heavily suggested that the speculation I saw somewhere about the place is correct.

Now that Glenn, Maggie, Southland, and Eugene have a decent-sized group, my hopes are that they will roll through Terminus before anyone gets there and continue toward DC in the spinoff show. I can live with that split, and I suppose they have to find Beth because too many established characters would be in the other group. They can't pick up Carol and Tyrese because those two have Rick's baby. I suspect we might not see Carol and Tyrese next week, as they do not have any hanging storylines.

Very good finale! Thank you Scott Gimple! Nice season - he knows what he is doing just like Darabont.

Season finale review: The Walking Dead - A: The monsters at the end of these tracks

You can look at the way that "A" flashed back to the time immediately before the season premiere as Scott Gimple and Angela Kang shining a light on the year's big character arc for Rick, and that was a story for the season that pretty much had a beginning (Rick puts down his gun to become a farmer), a middle (the Governor's arrival forces Rick to reluctantly go back to fighting) and an end (more dire circumstances turns Rick into the man who could do what he did to Joe and his gang, and who can be that confident that he is going to mess up the folks from Terminus). But beyond that, this was a season that was all middle.

Maybe that's just Gimple trying to course correct for some failings the show may have had under Glen Mazzara, just as Mazzara had to spend the beginning of his tenure pivoting away from some of Frank Darabont's decisions, and maybe this means that next season — which in theory will be the first time the show will have the same showrunner for complete back-to-back seasons — will have more forward momentum. And as I've said a lot the last couple of months, the show did need some work done to shore up its foundation and make us care about what happens to anyone beyond Rick and maybe Carl and Michonne. Some of that worked, and some of it didn't, but the effort was admirable and probably necessary, even if it meant putting the larger story on hold for a while. (More ideally, a lot of the character work would have been done back on Hershel's farm, or earlier in the prison stay, but you can't have everything.)
...
Mainly, though, I'm hoping that now that Gimple has a full year under his belt, we can get an actual sustained stretch of "Walking Dead" goodness, rather than the fits and starts the show has worked in for pretty much all of its run. If it's the constant showrunner carousel causing that, things could get very interesting. If, on the other hand, it's just the nature of the material, then you have to be ready to keep taking the good with the bad.

Pretty spot on assessment. Can't really add much to this, except that I loved them Empire Strikes Back-ing things...bold move and I am sure a LOT of people are p'o'd right now...too bad.

Oh wait...there was a shocking bit of darkness when Old Joe hinted, well actually pretty much came out and said, that they were gonna rape Carl. That was more than I expected and pretty off putting. Gotta give the kid some credit, Carl(the actor who plays him) is not the liability he once was. The 'I am a monster' scene with Michonne was nicely done. A real good finale' and I hope the optimism I have from Gimple's run continues.

They stuck the landing, for sure. And to those who were disappointed there WASN'T a major character death and/or nothing was "resolved" at the end of the episode.....too friggin' bad. You're generally SUPPOSED to leave things on a cliffhanger, and that is what they did.

Nicely done.

Hey all, when Rick and Michonne were talking (before Joe and his psycho band got there) Rick was saying their time was spent looking for food and something else. Does anyone remember what it was Rick said the other thing was?

They were talking about having eaten the rabbit (which we don't see), that it was small and travelled well. Rick said all they talk about is food... "I forgot what this feels like". And Michonne says: 'Me too. I hope we're able to forget again soon'.
