BD Horror News - TV: 'Walking Dead' Producers Promise No Stalling, New Threats In Season 2

A must read if you are a fan of the show. New showrunner Glen Mazzara has been taking charge of the press for this lately, even explaining that Darabonts much talked about idea about the fall of Atlanta was nixed as a group creative decision, not due to corporate interference. This article definitely sounds like a half apology for the slow start to season 2 and a promise of things picking up in the second half. Nice little tease at the end about 2 new characters walking on to the show. Also, it seems, contrary to prior reports, that Lennie James' character(he took in Rick in s1 e1/wife is a zombie) is still in play...and that's cool. Like I said, if you like the show...read this. It may soothe your nerves about the quality dropping.

And I feel like the lone voice in the wilderness on this one...but Hell on Wheels finale' was pretty strong. After a slow start this show REALLY caught a groove and became one of my most anticipated shows of the week. Thankfully the ratings were good enough(boosted by Walking Dead and dropped off marginally without the lead in) that AMC isn't pulling a Rubicon on this one. I cannot recommend highly enough.

I don't necessarily buy it all. What Darabont wanted to do was genius (Fall of the ATL) and would've been what continues to make this series (and by happenstance make AMC) such good television. AMC proved they can do things right with Breaking Bad but I just don't have any respect for any business trying to squeeze the proverbial pennies.

What else was Mazzara (who is now the AMC company man) going to say?? He can't do Darabont's idea as that would look like he was just copying him and I am not sure AMC would go along with it now. I just don't trust AMC leadership any longer. I hope they can carry the story together. As much as I complained the Sofia saga the way Darabont ended it - that was pure genius. I am going to hold out hope the new show runner can do the same but we will see. I am still PO'ed they snuffed out Darabont obviously. He really had the feel for this series on television and was the one who developed. I just would rather see the artist who conceive the art get to finish is.

Mystery Men Revealed in The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 8 | Shock Till You Drop

Shooting has been completed on The Walking Dead season 2 for some time now, but a few casting bites have been released concerning two new faces you can expect to see in episode 8 on February 12. These are the two mystery men we saw hinted at in this clip.

Aaron Munoz and Michael Raymond James (True Blood, Terriers) will pop up in the midseason premiere. Munoz plays a character named "Tony," one of two new survivors who enter Rick's World. It is unknown who James will play.

Creator Robert Kirkman teased that these two could pose a threat to Rick and his crew.

"Nebraska" airs on AMC February 12.

Oh man...Terriers...:cbgb:

That video was incredible. Damn... Suddenly I feel like watching season 4 for a second time.

Is this the actor who'll play The Walking Dead's biggest villain? | Blastr

Ok...Just as good if not better...

Viewers of the Walking Dead TV series know by now that the zombies aren't the bad guys—they are simply an incredibly troublesome part of life. They don't act with malice, they just are. But readers of Robert Kirkman's comic know that there's a true villain on the horizon. So who will play Walking Dead's Big Bad, the Governor?

In the pages of The Walking Dead, the Governor is a sadistic tyrant who rules over a town of survivors with a twisted iron fist. And when he encounters Rick Grimes and friends, it kicks off a devastating wave of bloodshed.

It's a plum role ... one that actor/makeup effects maestro Tom Savini (who worked on, among others, the original Friday the 13th and Dawn of the Dead) wanted for himself, and he's been lobbying his old friend Greg Nicotero—another makeup legend who's now a co-executive producer on Walking Dead—to that effect. As Savini told Dread Central:

"Listen, I have been campaigning to be the Governor on that damn thing with Greg Nicotero for over a year. Every time I see the graphic novel and I see a picture of the Governor, who looks just like me, I send Greg a picture. I just won't give up. Last time I talked to him about it, when I was in Los Angeles, he said they were going after a name for that part. I said, "Who?" He said John Hawkes. Well, I never heard of John Hawkes. But then he reminds me that we were in From Dusk Till Dawn together. He is the guy at the beginning in the store that fires on them. Apparently he was up for an Academy Award; he was up for something called Winter's Bone. That's whom they are going after for the Governor."

'Breaking Bad' Creator Vince Gilligan Extends Deal with Sony Pictures TV - Yahoo! Movies

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan has re-upped with Sony Pictures TV, a studio spokesperson confirmed to THR. The deal keeps Gilligan at Sony into summer 2013 encompassing production on the final 16 episodes of Gilligan's AMC series.

Production on the final season – which will air in two batches of eight episodes – is set to begin in March. AMC and Gilligan announced last summer that the series would come to a close. ANd Gilligan’s new deal with Sony calls for him to develop subsequent projects there.

Oh yeah...
