All Things:AMC television

Well, I'm pretty sure Flanagan isn't, but the rest of them might be ok.

Why do you dislike him so much...sure he's a little tool-ish, but every gang of stooges needs a Moe. Ok, tell you what...if they get some hot mess and remove the whole 'geeks fumphering over a cute gal' element than I am all for it. But the thing that turns me off is that the show works best when the guys are just being themselves and not playing to the cameras. I think that you take the chance of upsetting that. Sure it's not 'must see tv' but they have a nice little groove going on.

I don't disagree. It could be a disaster.

As for Flanagan... I dunno, he just rubs me the wrong way. He comes off like such a dick sometimes.

Well yeah...Flanagan is dick-y, but I do not get the feeling that there is a prickly pear like hierarchy. Even the pre-determined low man Ming fights back. I think these guys actually like each other and the ball bashing comes from a good place. Which is why I hope they don't tamper with the chemistry. It's real organic the love these guys have for each other. And I really think that they show it best when they forget the cameras. Walts just real Jersey...and if you have a problem with that Adgy...well, I will let you off the hook, but you know what I am saying right little brother???

After thinking about it some... I agree with you. It would be very difficult to insert another person, regardless of sex, into that show without it messing things up. Even though things are not perfect.

It would probably just be awkward and strange. The fact that these guys are kind of sad, lonely male comic nerds (and I say that knowing the three employees are married) is kind of what makes this show work the way it does. Adding a lady, or anyone not already a part of that subset of the population would just make it weird. They'd stand out too much as being different.

I don't know if there's a way to integrate anyone else at this point. Maybe a wife?

Glad you could see my point. The wives are a decent idea...if they want to introduce the home lives into it and let us see what these guys are like away from the strength of the pack I am all for that. You would probably get to see 3 guys who are very submissive to their wives.

So, did everyone abandon "The Killing" after last season's cluster****? I'm way too hooked to give it up. Season premiere was last night with two episodes. I only got a chance to watch one, I'll likely catch episode 2 tonight.

No sir...+1 for still firmly on board. Concentrated on Game of Thrones(watched twice) and animation domination last night. Wanted to save The Killing for it's own night. Will most likely watch tonight.

Watched both Killing eps. Dang good still. 2nd ep recorded weirdly since Mad Men ran late, so I missed the last minute or two.

Watched the Killing last night. Got an almost HOMELAND type vibe at times, as if Linden might be a little 'off her meds'. The subplot with her annoying son is just tired as hell though. A little worried with the whole 'conspiracy' aspect they are setting up. Glad that Holder(just realized...Holder...ex-junkie...coincedence???) wasn't simply dirty. Man he is gonna have to work hard to get her to take him in again. The stuff with the Larsen family was a little much too. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it...but it didn't have that 'smaller' feel of the first season. Feels like it has the potential to spiral out a little bit and get to be too unrealistic. I will keep watching because I still like it but they need to be careful and reel it back a bit. That being said I may just be biting on some cleverly written 'red herrings'...so we will see.

Bryan Cranston Says Final Season of BREAKING BAD Will Be Broken in Half; Reveals New Details on Season Premiere

Cranston, who is directing the ninth episode of the final season, says the new season, will “pick up right where we left off.” He continues:

“We’re cleaning up the pieces from last season’s huge ordeal where Gus Fring was forced to meet his maker. It’s not as easy as Walter thought. And as we’ve discovered over the years, you don’t really know who Walter White is. I’m still discovering who he is and I’m trying to allow myself to be open to him going darker and darker. There’s physical danger to himself and his family, plus there’s the emotional danger due to his anger and hubris. It’s about the evil that men do and where that takes him.”

Since Scott always does a bang-up job with our Breaking Bad recaps, I don’t really have space to present my theory on how the show will end. So this is as good a place as any:

I think Walter will kill Hank and Jesse at various points in the final season. Jesse will manage to discover that Walt poisoned Brock, and will want revenge. Hank will eventually solve the mystery of Heisenberg, so he’ll need to be taken care of. If you’re wondering how dark someone like Walter White can go, I think killing his surrogate son and brother-in-law is pretty damn dark.

The Kid reminds me of the kid from Terminator 2. An annoying douchebag ruining an otherwise enjoyable show.

It was the same on V and another show I can't remember right now, it's like a new 'sulky male child' syndrome. Damned kids and their Bieber cuts and emo music.

Certainly agree with this when it comes to Carl on TWD .... Minus the emo music of course ...

Late to the conversation, but I'm glad to hear Comic Book Men was renewed for another season. I don't know much about comics other than the characters themselves (meaning mainly Marvel and DC,) but I liked the show. I agree about adding a woman though, hopefully it doesn't mess with the show too much.

Here’s the full press release:

New York – April 16, 2012 – AMC announced today “Thief of Thieves,” a new project in development from “The Walking Dead” executive producer/writer Robert Kirkman and Chic Eglee (“The Shield,” “Dexter”) based upon the new comic Kirkman created under the same name. “The Walking Dead” executive producer David Alpert and Kirkman reunite with Eglee who will serve as showrunner. All three also serve as executive producers on the new skein. The comic book Thief of Thieves, a new crime caper published by Kirkman’s Skybound imprint at Image Comics, debuted on February 8 and sold out the same day.

“Much like ‘The Walking Dead’ brought horror to television in a unique and groundbreaking way, I feel ‘Thief of Thieves’ can do the same thing for heist stories, showing the humanity of all the characters, including the criminals,” explains Kirkman, who created “The Walking Dead” comic in 2003 and still writes each issue, among many other titles.

“AMC recognizes the limitless ideas generated by the comic industry,” says Kirkman. “Their dedication to bringing ‘The Walking Dead’ to life as a TV show has been key to its success and I’m excited about the potential of ‘Thief of Thieves’ to reach similar levels of success.” According to Kirkman, “Working with AMC has been a tremendously positive experience and I’m looking forward to continuing and strengthening our relationships there and I can’t neglect to mention I’ve been dying to work with Chic again since we wrapped on ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 1.”

Circle of Confusion partner Alpert adds, “It’s incredibly exciting to put the band back together with Robert, Chic and AMC; it just feels great.”

Kirkman developed “Thief of Thieves” based upon his experience in the writer’s room of “The Walking Dead” after observing how the ideas got more creative and thrilling when a group of talented writers were working together to make the show as interesting as possible. The first arc of the comic is being written by Nick Spencer and Shawn Martinbrough is the artist. Kirkman created the story and has a “head writer” in charge of each arc of “Thief of Thieves.” The story focuses on master thief Conrad Paulson who, while attempting to reconcile with his estranged wife and son, vows to walk the straight and narrow, only to discover he’s completely addicted to the thrill of stealing. Now he must feed his addiction by stealing only what has been stolen, as the “Thief of Thieves.”

The deal was brokered by CAA, Katz Golden Rosenman for Kirkman, Behr Abramson for Alpert/Circle of Confusion, Michael Gendler for Eglee and Marci Wiseman, head of business affairs for AMC with Roger Arar at Loeb and Loeb.

Second episode of the Killing was a LOT better. The downward spiral of Holder was predictable but well done. And the storyline with Richmond is heading into good territory...that catheter scene was brutal. Now we have even more murky waters w/ the Polish mafia possibly involved. May just be more red herrings though. The one thing I hate is Mitch's Archer like grieving process. Way to go supermom.

'The Walking Dead' Producers Tease Season 3 | CraveOnline

While spoilers for the third season were generally avoided, Mazzara revealed that he has recently finished the script for the third season premiere.

"It's pretty dynamic and action-packed with tons of zombies but also a lot of quieter moments and a lot of heart," related Mazzara. "This is a group of survivors, a family that has come together and they have no good options, no place to go and they're really trying to keep themselves alive, and keep each other alive. You can see how desperate they are; they're clinging to each other. It's those moment of human interaction and heart that are important."

Kirkman added "The good stuff is coming. For comic fans, they know the good stuff is coming, the really intense stuff with Michonne, the Governor and Woodbury really defined the comic book series and we haven't even gotten to that stuff yet. So now that we're getting to that stuff in Season 3, it's really going to change the show quite a bit."

Regarding Dale's death in the TV series, Kirkman hinted that the character's eventual gruesome fate in the comic book series may happen to someone else in the future of the show.

"There will be cases where something memorable like that will be displaced and given to somebody else," revealed Kirkman. "I'll hint that that actually happens in our first episode back in Season 3 -- there's something memorable that happened to a character in the comic is happening in the show in our first episode back and it's not the same character."

Despite Carol's (Melissa McBride) attempt to turn Daryl (Norman Reedus) against Rick in the second season finale, the producers indicated that Daryl will continue to be Rick's right hand man and that it will be "interesting" to see Daryl in a position of power.

The complete report from the event*** includes several memorable quotes from the cast, including which character narrowly avoided being killed off and what the reasoning was behind Dale's surprising demise.
