All Things:AMC television

TWD tonight .... wow .... didn't see that coming .... good episode though ....

No. They did not make Carol a series regular to send her to the cornfield. Certainly hope someone(Darryl) calls Rick on his horse****. Oh it's a Rictatorship, wait, I want to go kookoo and abdicate all responsibility, not wait again, I am going to single handedly make a decision that affects a lot of people. Ladies and gents, time to face it...Rick is a twatwaffle. He was in the comics(big part of why I stopped reading) and is even moreso in the show. **** you Rick. And **** you too Tyrese. At first you are passive to the point of being bland, now you are a blue-faced(from holding your breath) pouty little child. **** you too Bob Stucky(new guy). What abunch of dead weight. And Rick tosses the one really rational person out to the curb. I hope she joins up with the Governor and just comes back and cleans house. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO angry about this.

The rumor I hear is she is going to be the series regular in the companion series ... didn't we all know that AMC could figure out a way to kill the golden goose yet again. Not sure what to think but they must think the inevitable drama Rick is going to have with Daryl AND Tyrese will make us all happy. Not sure what will make me happy on this show anymore. Two steps forward and all ....

TWD was surprising. I'm sure she will be back to 'save the day' somehow. Talking Dead was pretty good last night (they didn't Britta it like last week!).

I keep reading all that in speculation...it would be a hugely bad move. Carol has LONG been the backbone of the group and to think they would just toss the chemistry between her and Darryl out the window is stupid. I knew it was a bad sign when they made her a series regular finally.

Screw Rick and his comic storyline. They could have made everyone happy by having Carol shoot him in the face. That was the perfect opportunity to pull off a surprise of epic proportions.

HA!!!! I was thinking the same thing. Knew they wouldn't. Rick is my biggest fear...being trapped with a selfish, wishy washy narcissist after the apocolypse. Kingsqueen asked a decent question last night...how much time has passed since the 'incident'. Does fourth season make it 4 years?

With kids as regulars they have to stay fairly close to real time, so I figure it by how Carl ages.

I'm just beyond annoyed by Rick at this point. Rick made the decision to kill Shane and no one batted an eye. I know he was psychotic, but dude...come on. Carl killed a teenager who he didn't HAVE to kill and was grounded for 6 months. Carol puts two dying people out of their misery and tries to stop the infection that will kill everyone else in the prison and she gets banished. The woman who took care of his child and everyone else while he was going crazy waiting for phone calls from no one. My, what a short memory he has.

If Rick lies about what happened, I'm going to be even more pissed because I want Daryl to know she's alive and out there so he'll go track her down and bring her back to the prison so she can come back and continue being the best character on this show.

TELL IT SISTER!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick and his sociopathic runt should be tossed out. Little asskicker can stay, she hardly knows her dad anyway.

BREAKING BAD Spin-Off Series BETTER CALL SAUL Could Be a Prequel and a Sequel | Collider

In the penultimate episode of Breaking Bad, we saw that Saul had given up any hope of retaining his law practice, and he went to start a new life in Nebraska. Previously, it seemed like Better Call Saul would firmly be a prequel series, but Odenkirk tells IGN that Gilligan and Gould are looking at other options:

Well, I’ve talked to Vince (Gilligan) and Peter (Gould), who are writing and creating the series, about this and I’ve said that a lot of people do want to see what happens to next to Saul. So, I don’t know what they’re going to do. I know they’ve talked about prequel, but they’ve also talked to me about sequel, and they’ve also talked to me about a mix of prequel and sequel.

Odenkirk also says the writers are set to get to work in a few weeks, and that the show will be 70% drama and 30% comedy.

I know I’ll watch the show (or at least the first couple of episodes), but part of me wants to leave well enough alone. Even though Walt is dead and Jesse is in the wind, the universe still feels fragile, and trying to change or augment it through a spin-off series is risky. I don’t feel the need to see anymore, and the end of Saul’s arc is a good ending for the character. His punishment—losing everything including his identity—fit the crime, especially when he joined “Team Kill Jesse”. A new series could be entertaining, but it still feels unnecessary.

THE WALKING DEAD Producers Comment on the Absence of The Governor | Collider

I think Gimple has done a real good job heightening the drama while sharpening the focus this season. It's early, and showrunners have a shelf life, but the fact that he was able to come in and put his stamp on the show, if this article is even partial truth, says good things. If they can stick the landing with the half season and full season finales he will go a long way to erasing the 'shoe is gonna drop' feeling that I think we all have in varying degrees.

It was great and very tense how everything was going to hell at the same time. Of course, what are the odds that pretty much everyone who wasn't a character from last season died from the sickness and everyone who was a character from last season survived?

Really liked the part where Rick was reconnecting with Carl as they tried to brace the fence. Too bad the people in the prison let those zombies build up, but then they were pretty occupied by the sickness.

Great episode. Just hope they don't fall into the same trap and we see the governor sooner rather than later. The 7 episodes searching for Sophia and the the 7 episodes waiting for the gov vs prison fight made those two half seasons suck.

HELL ON WHEELS Renewed for Season 4; AMC Orders 13 Episodes | Collider

News of the Hell on Wheels season four renewal comes courtesy of TV Line. AMC president Charlie Collier had this to say:

?AMC has served passionate Western fans for three decades, so it is particularly gratifying to see these viewers capping off their Saturdays with an original Western on what has historically been a tough night of the week for television. Our commitment to the genre is unwavering and we look forward to continuing to super-serve this audience with an expanded fourth season of Hell on Wheels.?

in other news...

The network has not released any official word on the status of Low Winter Sun, a new drama that has yet to find itself an audience. In the absence of Breaking Bad, the hope is that binge watching and streaming video will boost interest in the show. AMC Networks CEO Josh Sapan had this to say about the changing nature of how audiences view content (via THR):

?There is, as a consequence of the technology, this new phenomenon that really does seem to be occurring. We have to be very careful about not being precipitous in our judgment of TV shows as to whether they can build a head of steam. So as it relates to Low Winter Sun, we?re evaluating ? I thought that the last few episodes were quite different and better and more urgent than the first part of the season. I think the backdrop is sort of interesting. We?ll have to evaluate exactly what we do and how much benefit the mid-season/off-season effect can be. But it?s not to be underestimated.?
