All Things:AMC television

This has been parked down the street from me at the beach in Playa del Rey for the past couple weeks:

It was really weird seeing that glimpse of normal Michonne, although it would have been weirder if it had happened her first season when she didn't have a personality. Carl repeatedly almost getting himself killed in his failed attempts to take care of himself was highly entertaining, and even if he learned the error of his ways conveniently quickly, it keeps us from having to put up with d-head Carl for more than one episode. His attempt at acting when he wanted Rick to wake up was so painfully bad I can't believe it was not cut from the episode. Also, the part where Carl thought Rick was a zombie and almost killed him felt extremely contrived. And then they were halfway into doing it again when some moron banged on their door without calling out to them.

I really liked it though, lots of good tense moments, well-paced, and I didn't even care that most of the cast was AWOL. At least not until it was over and then I thought "Aww, no Daryl? Or Glen or Maggie?"

Carl is a snivelling little punk. Like Father like son. Annnnnnd they are sooo gonna need a bigger house when Carl unleashes the industrial sized fury of 112 ounces of chocolate pudding being shoveled into a pretty empty stomach. Liked the part where he was looking at the tv and video games and you could feel him mourning his lost childhood. Tricky thing going all-Carl, because he isn't a very subtle actor, but it worked alright...and like King stated, we got it out of the way quickly. The Michonne stuff was sad...and seeing poor Hershell like that, not cool. Nice ease in, let's see what Darryl, Glenn and the rest are up to!!!!

B.T.W. Entertainment Weekly teased some comments from the cast about a 'very controversial' episode coming up. If you have read the comics and you agree with me that it has something to do with sports equipment, without spoiling for others, sound off.

I am going to be some kind of PO'ed if they jump to that this quick ... because we know what that means for folks in the story.

They have done well to follow the general outline of the books so far and I think they still have some work to do on where they are going. When I saw the ad for that I was pretty mad. They have lots of story to tell before running to that now ... then again what do I know??!! I am not an AMC exec or Kirkman, who should both stay out of the story telling ...

I was just excited to see Aldis Hodge on my TV again as Michonne's babydaddy. Leverage forever <3

PREACHER TV Series Introduction. PREACHER TV Series Will be Produced by AMC | Collider

THE CONTROVERSY
Preacher-amc-imagePreacher has always been a tough sell. Any property that portrays God as the main villain of the tale is, to say nothing of the numerous rampant bat**** crazy ideas that are strewn throughout. It’s these elements though that also help put forth a story that is about a man, his woman, and his best friend and all that joys and heartache that go along with these relationships. Preacher is really a story about the American way of life and it features cameos from some of the most iconic figures from the US of A (from John Wayne to Elvis (Maybe?) to Bill Hicks). Yes, there happens to be a storyline where the gang walks into a giant sex mansion and stumbles upon a room with a man in a gimp mask, screaming at sheep, but its all part of the crazy journey that is Preacher. I’m really looking forward to see how the show transitions to AMC and to see who ends up playing which characters. It’s going to be a helluva ride.
