All Things:AMC television

Man, last 2 episodes of HoW have been real good. I still think Elam is alive. Took in by Indians or something...

Jake Weber as the carpetbagger lawman has been real solid too. He can be a lousy actor(see season 2 of the Following) but not this go round.

It was good to see Bohanan back in town.

Tyler Ross Talks The Killing Season 4 and Henry Gamble's Birthday Party

Put this here(even though s4 is on Netflix). Just got hoovered into it the other day and I am not sure many people know it's even there. It's a scant 6 episodes and if you liked the show, YOU NEED TO WATCH. Some stuff got a little rushed, will save spoilers for when, if ever, anyone wants to discuss...and, for those who always complained about a lack of resolution on this show...well, you gotta watch. The acting, as always is top notch. Joan Allen, Gregg Henry(when doesn't he) just KILL it. And I need to check, but her son is back and it's the kid from The Way Way Back(which you should also see). Don't know if they recast or he was on from the beginning. Just a great story with tons of mood and terrific acting. Holder/Linden's relationship never easy...but just amazing to watch. Supposed to be final season, and I won't say if it ends with any possibilities, but...this show has died twice before and been reborn, so who knows?

DAMN!!!!!!!! Has this been the best season of Hell on Wheels yet or what? Last season was a bit off, but considering AMC held off on renewing, and then the creators/showrunners bailed at that late hour, it's no surprise. But the new team running it clearly has a lot of ideas. And they are pretty damned good so far. Should be interesting how/when Elam makes it back.

OOOh and another corker of an episode. Durant looks in a bad way. Like the new 'free man' Mickey, and Sid was a nice addition, bringing a sense of rascally fun...AND danger. annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd SPOILERS

The scenes for next episode...I TOLD YA!!!!!

The music in the opening scene threw me for a bit of a loop, I had to double check to make sure it was HoW. The music this season has changed quite a bit from previous seasons.

spoiler

Elam recovering with that trapper guy should be good stuff. Also nice to see Gregg Henry added to the cast as the head Mormon guy.

The Walking Dead Companion Series Pilot Gets the Greenlight

AMC delivered the official announcement today, revealing that Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert will all act as executive producers on the new project. Dave Erickson co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman and will also serve as executive producer and showrunner. Here’s what Collier had to say about the endeavor:

“Almost from the beginning of ‘The Walking Dead’ on AMC, fans have been curious about what is going on in the zombie apocalypse in other parts of the world. In fact, beyond requests for zombie cameos, it’s the question I get asked the most.”

Kirkman also added:

“There are many corners of ‘The Walking Dead’ universe that remain unseen in the shadows. Being given the opportunity to shine a light into those corners and see what lurks out there is an absolute thrill. I know the fans are anxious to hear what Dave and I have been cooking up for this new universe of ‘The Walking Dead,’ and I’m happy to be one step closer to sharing it with them.”

HoW is cruising along. :) Ratings still OK?

Hell on Wheels TV show on AMC: latest ratings | canceled + renewed TV shows | TV Series Finale

Looks like they have dropped a bit. So hard to tell what AMC will do. It's low rated, sure...but for a Saturday night it's a dependable number. Does AMC ****can a niche favorite in favor of trying to find something that people will watch in bigger numbers. Sure it has a LOT to do with the cost and I just am not sure how expensive HoW is to produce. It looks expensive, but that don't necessarily make it so. The average has to come up though. If it keeps dropping, yeah I can't see it surviving.
