All Things:Animated

I can't tell if Hotel Transylvania has potential either..
very excited for wreck-it ralph

We saw the panel for Hotel. I can honestly say that I have more hope for it now than I did going in. Tartofsky said there is enough adult humor(he compared to Avery/Warner Bros) in there to satisfy. He also talked about how he worked with the animators to stretch the boundaries of cg animation. Things that are supposed no-nos like thick necks and elongated heads were pursued in the interest of changing the limits. The footage looked really good and should be spectacular in 3d.

I'm nervous about Despicable Me 2. I totally loved the first one. Why ruin a good thing?? A 3rd about the minions, ugh I don't know....

And on another note, I saw 8 minutes of Wreck It Ralph at work yesterday. Won't give anything away, but it was awesome. High hopes for the movie continue..

I would have thought they could keep the minions as a short film like they have in the past, or even a direct-to-dvd. The more I watch the original the more I like it. I hope they don't screw up a sequel. Javier Bardem as the villain is a nice move, we'll see. Good to hear about Ralph, thanks.

Agree with this. Problem with the minions, while entertaining, they're hard to tell apart. You'd have to come up with a central character, protagonist, etc. And one of the joys of them is the fact there are so many that sound the same, have the same sense of humor/kindness, etc.

Probably overthinking it though. we will see.
