‘Nine Lives': New Clip Introduces Christopher Walken, Cat Whisperer

Will Nine Lives lowkey be the best movie of 2016? God I hope so. Everything about this movie is too good to be believed. It sounds like a fake movie on SNL, but it’s so very real. Barry Sonnenfeld‘s upcoming comedy stars Kevin Spacey as a grumpy cat names Mr. Fuzzypants, or more accurately a grumpy man trapped in Mr. Fuzzypant’s body, and Christopher Walken as a sage, cat-whispering pet shop owner with a calming demeanor and sick sense of style. Bless.

Today brings a new clip from the film, showing off Walken’s cat whisperer and it’s just so wonderously odd. Look, this movie has a sassy snugglepuff cat as the lead character, so I’m definitley going to love it no matter what, but it’s also from the director who nailed the peculiar, otherworldly tones of The Adams Family and Men in Black so there’s a chance it could be delightful. He’s also the director who gave us Wild Wild West though, so let’s hope this one veers more to the other side of that spectrum. If this clip in any indication, I’m thinking it’s going to be a fun one.

This reminds me that once when in the throes of insomnia, some Puss in Boots movie came on in which said cat alternates between feline and human, and Christopher Walken played the human incarnation because of course he did. Sometimes I find cool stuff on the telly at 3 am, lol.

Well the early reviews of Ghostbusters 2016 are in and just like I thought it is a steaming pile of bantha fodder. Reading how the final boss is taken out and I thought "yeah, they went there."
