Ealy: Lycans Extinct in Underworld Awakening - ShockTillYouDrop.com

One of the interesting tidbits Ealy gives is that in film, Lycans are allegedly extinct in this film ? a far cry from the first three films where they were thriving.

So does this mean the film is set in the future?

"It is unclear how far it is in the future," Ealy says. "I don't know where it takes place or when. Time and place doesn't really matter in a film like this. You get caught up with the characters and they all have a human dynamic."

Fango and other horror sites have been reviewing it...but even they can't say whether the film is deserving of being in a horror forum. All the reviews are purposefully vague...one thing I read was along the lines of 'not strictly horror, but the last act has some folks doing some pretty bad **** to each other...' That works for me. I have yet to see a bad review of this flick so, Kingsqueen...looks like a trip down to the Nuart(and Paco's:evilgrin: ) may be in order for this Saturday.

Cooper is making amazing headway on Hyperion, though. Now, this is a project that?s gone around and around Hollywood for years, so who knows if he?ll be the one to crack it, but Cooper seems confident he?s the one: ?We are just finishing the deal to write that so that?s going ahead? Ideally we?d like to do them all but we?re actually combining them because it?s kind of a mammoth undertaking, these four books, to consolidate and turn them into script form. The first one, we?re going to write two scripts, so the first is kind of a combination of Hyperion and The Fall of Hyperion and Endymion, which is three out of the four, and then we?ll see where that takes us in terms of the second one.?

That?s a lot for one film. I just finished Fall of Hyperion last weekend?and I honestly can?t figure out how one would combine the first two books, let alone work in Endymion. There?s so much crammed in the first two books. The first book alone could probably make for an entire HBO series, with an episode devoted to each pilgrim?s tale, punctuated by the pilgrimage itself. Godspeed, Cooper. I don?t know how you?re going to pull that off.

Cary Fukunaga To Direct Sci-Fi Thriller Spaceless Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

After Sin Nombre and Jane Eyre, it was anybody?s bet what Cary Fukunaga would do next. You would have been smart to follow a tip from screenwriter Jeff Vintar, however, when he revealed on Twitter that Fukunaga was chasing a deal to finally bring his sci-fi script Spaceless to the screen.

The long-hot concept has been in the works for many years now. Sounding not unlike Alfonso Cuaron?s Gravity, in some respects, the Spaceless screenplay revolves around an assassin in space who wakes up to find himself tumbling through the starry vacuum with nothing but his in-suit computer to keep him company. There?s nothing left for him to do but to hang out there, floating in the void, waiting to die. There?s a twist, though, and not everything is necessarily how it seems?

BD Horror News - A Whole Lot Going On in Trailer for Fish Out of Water Alien Invasion Flick 'The Darkest Hour'

The movie doesn't open until Christmas (December 23) and already Summit Entertainment has blown the lid off Chris Gorak's (Right at Your Door) home invasions flick The Darkest Hour. This morning Summit released the first trailer that, while absolutely over-the-top energetic, reveals a bit too many plot points. The invaders motives are ruined, it's revealed that they are invisible, and they also ruin how the vacationing kids are able to see them coming. It also struck me as interesting that we're already running out of "alien invasion" idea, being that the twist to Darkest Hour is that the kids are "fish out of water" in Moscow. If Hollywood follows the Rush hour trend, the next alien invasion movie will take place in space (there's a tip for you screenwriters around town).

Ranting aside, Olivia Thirlby's in the film (she's crazy hot), and it does look absolutely balls-to-the-wall INSANE (even if you can't see the antagonists).

The sci-fi horror starring Olivia Thirlby, Emile Hirsch, Rachael Taylor, Joel Kinnaman and Max Minghella is described as a 28 Days-like thriller that "follows five young people who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack." It was revealed that it was actually filmed in 3-D.

BD Horror News - Full International Trailer for Roland Emmerich's 'Hell'

Back in early July we reported on a low-budget apocalyptic tale from Roland Emmerich, king of the end-of-the-world subgenre (he directed Independence Day, 2012 and The Day After Tomorrow). Entitled Hell, inside we've scored the full international trailer for Tim Fehlbaum's dusty indie opening in Germany this September.

"It was once the source of life, light and warmth. But now the sun has turned the entire world into a baked and barren wasteland. Forests are scorched. Animal carcasses line the roads. Even the nights are dazzlingly bright.

Maria, her little sister Leonie and Phillip are heading for the mountains in a car with tinted glass. Rumor has it water can still be found there. It is a hazardous trip to nowhere.
