All Things:Science Fiction/Fantasy

This guy ticks me off. Not his politics, which I really don't care one way or another about - they are his own opinion to which he can have them.

No what ticks me off is his dismissal of Ender's story altogether so he could get to the Speaker story (he states this in the introduction to the latest version of Ender). And now that the movie has been made AND it has made some money (the press really wants to call $28M tepid?) he wants to right more stories from the Ender post-universe??!! Talk about a money grab!!

WARCRAFT Concept Art and Plot Info Emerges at BlizzCon 2013 | Collider

Duncan Jones’ Warcraft adaptation is set to begin filming in Vancouver early next year, so we should be getting casting confirmations and an official synopsis in the next few months. In order to tease out some information, Blizzard Entertainment released some concept art images and non-specific plot info during their BlizzCon 2013 convention. Along with Jones, Oscar-winning special effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer (Life of Pi, The Golden Compass) was on hand to talk about the film. Hit the jump to take a look at the concept images and to find out a bit more about the videogame adaptation. Warcraft is scheduled for a December 18, 2015 release date.

The director commented on his reaction to reading the script for the first time, saying it wouldn’t work because it focused too heavily on the human Alliance. Now, however, “It’s about both sides. It’s going to be red and blue.”

Although Jones was mum on just how they’ve decided on for casting, we do know that Warcraft will tell “the story of Anduin Lothar versus Durotan, Human and Orc heroes from the original real-time strategy games.”

“It’s been hard to find an actor who looks like Durotan,” said Jones. “Every time I meet an actor I just try to squish his face.”

Westenhofer, who admitted to being a player as far back as the alpha-testing days in 2004 and owning a level 90 Mage, spoke about the Orcs as human actors in make-up, not CGI. After comparing the film’s tone to that of Ridley Scott’s Gladiator, he commented on the props, saying, “The swords that are being built are the biggest swords a human being can wield.”

Mondays...I imagine they are gonna pair it up with Sleepy Hollow for the rest of it's season, which is a good idea really.

I recorded said show, should be fun!

Michael Ealy is a great actor!

So I will watch it when I get home today! :good:

The old lady recorded the first episode so we'll watch the first two episodes tonight. I know absolutely nothing about it, which is the way I like it.

Sensitive viewers will need to prepare themselves for the double-whammy of Urban and Ealy. Using the closed-caption feature may help them realize there's a story going on.
