All Things: TELEVISON

I asked before and got no responses (maybe y'all missed it) but is anyone here watching that show on Fox? Empire. Any good? The ratings have increased every week and I can't believe it. Sounds unreal. But the original trailers when I saw it aired felt very "meh".

It looks like the hip hop version of Nashville. Neither of them are my cup of tea.

Going to checkout Dig when it airs up here... next Wednesday. 6 days late. Ugh.

iZombie in 2 weeks should be good if it stays close to the comics.

Hah, I was going to ask as well because I noticed the rating are beyond amazing. I can't get myself to watch an episode.

Ok...time for Uncle JD's storytime...

So, yeah. I like LAST MAN ON EARTH. Like. But I cannot but feel I was sold a bill of goods. Last Man on Earth. Ok, get it...Night of the Comet with Will Forte. All the previews STRESSED his A-loneliness. We couldn't even get through the first episode without them breaking their own rules and introducing ANOTHER person. And...sorry, but Kristen Schaal ...the exact polar opposite of attractive. And now...second episode...another person. Like I said, enjoy the show. Very cute. Clever. But you freaking cheated.

Watched Premiere of The Returned. It was pretty good. Have not seen the French series, so not sure what the diffs are.

How is he not still the last MAN on earth? While they probably should have gone several more episodes with him alone doing crazy things, that could only go on for so long. They managed to put a little of that back in Sunday's episode near the end, but I am very glad for a third character because that first chick is deeply annoying. Funny, buy deeply annoying. Dropping her from 40% of the show to 20% of it can only help.

Dig... Exactly the kind of mess of random mystical crap thrown together that I should have expected from the genius behind Touch. And once again, let me reiterate that the first law I will pass as your next governor is a fine of $10,000,000 on any movie or TV show that uses the side view shot from inside the front seats of a car as another vehicle T-bones it. That goes to you too, Shield Agents. Terrorists taking over a fixed location with a rogue ex-cop/ex-military on the loose in the 1990s think it's been done too many times.

Hey...what they did with it was their problem. But they presented it as him...alone. I realize that they couldn't have gone too far with that...but c'mon, they couldn't even finish their first episode. At this point it is a barely disguised Y:Last Man. I'm not saying that they did anything technically wrong, I just think it was presented dishonestly. It's the principle of the thing.

Im with Jersey Devil....ideas must be running thin when the premise is voided in Episode 1.

Would be like Gilligans Island actually getting off the island in the Pilot.

It followed the French version very closely. They used most of the same character names, and several of the actors look a lot like their counterparts. I was curious after watching the original, and I'm happy that they're following it closely instead of spoiling the concept with a loose interpretation. If it stays that way, this version will help me understand some of the things that I originally missed, or that got lost in translation.
The French version was very good. IMO it was much creepier, but it's only been one episode so that could change.
