All Things: TELEVISON

totally backwards state. mtv, since at least 10 yrs ago, is either banned or censored there, depends where you are. banned in college dorms, censored in homes.

And I bet the politicians who decide that stuff also advocate for smaller government, too...

Neil Marshall To Direct Starz's 'Black Sails' - Deadline.com

Feature writer-director Neil Marshall (The Descent) is set to direct the pilot episode of Starz’s upcoming pirate drama series Black Sails, executive produced by Michael Bay. The eight-episode series, created by Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine, is set 20 years before the events in Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island and chronicles the adventures of fabled buccaneer Captain Flint and his men. The series is currently in pre-production in Cape Town, South Africa, with Starz brass eying it for a launch in early 2014, possibly inheriting the Spartacus slot.

Nice!

Just finished watching last week's Grimm. Near the beginning of the episode, I had flashbacks of seeing kidnapped girl Carly (Maddie Hasson) in another role where she was throwing a fit. Turns out it was as bratty birthday girl Chloe in God Bless America.

Here to help. Make sure you post your thoughts after...think this show is gonna make or break in the first week. They are pushing hard and all that $$$ they are going to want results. Almost destined to fail. We shall see. At least they didn't go all EVENT and publicise the crap out of it while telling you NOTHING. I think people pretty much know what to expect here and the show will live or die based on the interest in the actual content.

Looks like another "New Fall Season" has rolled around and there's nothing catching my interest this year. Again.

Hate to be a negative nancy, but Revolution will not last half a season.

Ok. First episode is huge. Ratings have to be strong. The 'tell' will be the drop off in week 2 and 3. Look, if it doesn't win the night out of the gate...no chance. But a strong open, with a minimal drop off in week 2 and 3 and NBC may stick with it. If it circles the drain, or gets remarkably lower ratings week to week, well...g'night nurse. But NBC needs something that gets some pub and decent buzz. Could go either way. But yeah, uphill battle. You should be rooting for this. It fails, we get more reality, more crap. It survives...well maybe we get something else that isn't SO ****ty.
