All Things: TELEVISON

That article I posted...the best line is at the end...

I, for one, commend Chase on his bold decision to leave the best thing he’s done in decades and return to obscurity.

**** him anyway. Dude has always been the biggest douche in the business. OOf the Chevy Chase late nite show...made Magic Johnson look eloquent.

Since I couldn't figure out where to put this... :

'Sherlock' season 3 might not air until 2014 | Inside TV | EW.com

So Grimm finally gets good, stops dicking around and rolls it sleeves up and finally gets into all the loooooooooonnnnnggggg gestating storylines...and it goes on hiatus. Rasberries.

Fall Finale for Revolution tonight... stupid NBC. Taking it off the air for 4 months is going to kill it. =[

Yeah...I got caught up on the last 3 eps the other night...the show is killing itself. The guy from the Cape who plays Monroe may as well have a Snidely Whiplash mustache. Nice guyliner too. It seems to be winding down. How many times can they defeat folks with guns using swords. It helps that the guys with the guns seem to be firing into the air cause they can't hit ANYTING, even by accident. The Led Zep music was such a crass shoehorned product placement. Yeah...losing interest in this one really quick and I may cut my losses. Arrow is getting kind of same-y/boring too. Network tv simply cannot compete. I watched Walking/Homeland/Boardwalk and even Dexter last night and those shows seem so much more credible than any of the network shows. Revolution just seems kind of hokey at this point.

I love how they threw a "We're Sorry" across the screen at the end...

Looks from upcoming previews Juliette might shoot Nick in defense of his attacking the captain? oh hamburgers...

haha...yeah...that we're sorry was really the finger in the eye of the whole thing. They are doing everything they can to destroy the momentum that show has generated. First they start the season out of time slot on Mondays...put it back on Fridays...then hiatus. Cue slide whistle. That last hour was so damned good. Nice to see Giuntola try on an actual emotion. For a guy who drinks coffee in every scene he sure is even tempered. Hey, what's the deal with Monroes lady pal being 'at her aunt's house'? Is she pregnant(in real life) and that's how they kept her in play? That whole thing smells odd.

I miss Community.

Of course, I still have several episodes from the end of last season on my overstuffed DVR (81% full right now).

I thought Revolution was solid last night. I'm definitely interested to see which direction the show is heading going forward.

Loved the fight sequence between Miles and Monroe. It made me think of Heroes and how they dropped the ball with Peter and Sylar since their fight scene never happened. (The stupid flashes behind closed doors that was treated as a fight doesn't count). At least in Revolution, they gave us something, so you know it's a taste of whats to come.

jd, do you know what lead-in Revolution is going to get when it returns on March 25th?

So...in that exit interview from Community Chevy Chase says something to the effect of 'so what, it's sitcom television...the lowest form of comedy'. Well, I saw the new Gap ad last night with him doing a horribly unfunny riff on The Griswolds...I guess shilling for multicolored pants is the height of comedy then. What a vomit. Elliot Gould is laughing at you Mr. Chase.

Chevy Chase has never been funny.

Ever.

Caddyshack? SNL? National Lampoon Lemmings?

Sure he's appeared in stuff with strong material... but is he, the guy, actually funny? I say no. Replace him in any of those things and I say they're just as funny if not funnier.

And I know this is heresy but Caddyshack doesn't hold up. Totally over rated. And I've yet to see an SNL sketch with Chase that made me so much as chuckle. Admittedly he was before my time so I've only seen a few.....

Aw hell I take it back.

Chevy Chase is obviously a talented guy and I've enjoyed plenty of stuff with him in it. I just think most of it is hugely over rated and I've always got the impression that he's an *******.

Love the thought process Doc. Really proud of you when you have one of those kind of moments. Yeah Chase HAS been good. Fletch for example. But he always gives the impression that he is too good for the room...and apparently that stems from the remarkable esteem he holds himself in. I used to be mad at Dan Akroyd for basically disappearing off the face of the planet(sorry...in his day, NOBODY could hold a candle to Danny) now, I am kind of glad.

OK I haven't seen Fletch...

but seriously... admitting Chase is a handsome enough fellow who knows how to hit his marks and recite his dialogue......

Is he really THAT funny?

For every one funny movie he's in there's about 8 that are terrible... and the movies he's really funny in (perhaps maybe not Fletch which I have not seen) are usually big ensemble pieces where he's not doing any heavy lifting. He's just a smarmy boring white guy.

He's the Dan Patrick of comedy.
