All Things: TELEVISON

OK I haven't seen Fletch...

but seriously... admitting Chase is a handsome enough fellow who knows how to hit his marks and recite his dialogue......

Is he really THAT funny?

For every one funny movie he's in there's about 8 that are terrible... and the movies he's really funny in (perhaps maybe not Fletch which I have not seen) are usually big ensemble pieces where he's not doing any heavy lifting. He's just a smarmy boring white guy.

He's the Dan Patrick of comedy.

Oh...why you gotta pick on Dan Patrick? Chase has a certain smug charm...played to the hilt in the Fletch movies. Done so well that they cannot relaunch that franchise no matter how many attempts they make. Foul Play...Modern Problems...there was a moment when Chase was the go-to guy. He probably would still be looked upon in a Bill Murray type odd sideways glance kinda way if he hadn't burned soooooo many bridges. Even Vacation...was good. Yeah he did a lot of drek...cops and robbersons...the chevy chase show...all pride. That's the man's problem. At least you didn't go off on my beloved Dan Akroyd...

Any early reactions to FXs The Americans? I know it doesnt come out til January but has there been any talk about this show either way yet?

You mean Fx's, right? It's an Fx show...I will watch it. That network has benefit of a doubt on everything they do in my eyes.

Fox announces 'Touch' debut, end of 'Mob Doctor' | Inside TV | EW.com

Ricky Gervais Sends Karl Pilkington and Warwick Davis Around the World | CraveOnline

At this point Karl Pilkington is used to being sent around the world against his own will. After two series of An Idiot Abroad, which sees the hapless Mancunian's friends Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant sending him journeying to the far corners of the earth, Pilkington must have grown somewhat accustomed to his new occupation as a begrudging travel documentarian.

But Gervais is forcing his former XFM Radio co-host out of his comfort zone once again, this time pairing him up with Life's Too Short star Warwick Davis in order to trace the steps of infamous explorer Marco Polo. Speaking to Sky about travelling with Karl, Warwick said: "I'd have thought he'd have done a bit of research about me just to know who he'd be travelling with, but he had no clue. He didn't even know I was in Harry Potter (Warwick played Professor Filius Flitwick in all 8 of the movies)."

However, it seems that Warwick wasn't the only one who grew annoyed with his travelling partner, with Karl responding to a question regarding why he looks "miserable" in the new series by saying: "I put it down to being away with Warwick".

The pair will follow Marco Polo's route to China, deviating from the path along the way to take in the sights and meet the people, including the conjoined twins "The Spider Sisters" in India. Karl's enthusiasm to meet the twins resulted in him leaving Warwick behind, which Karl told The Sun he later felt guilty about ditching his travelling partner. "It was an amazing moment for me meeting the twins", said The Ricky Gervais Show star, before concluding in his typically unknowingly offensive manner: "It was like a kid having a pet dog, then it gets a new puppy and the old one’s forgotten about. But I can’t go back and change it now."

An Idiot Abroad 3: The Short Way Round is set to premiere in the UK tonight (Friday, November 30th) on Sky1 and Sky1HD at 9.00pm.

Last Resort - wish they would've actually killed off his wife, she's fairly annoying.

Either way, the French girl is his.

What new shows do we have coming out after the new year? The Americans on FX, and I think there are a few more. Anything worth watching?

Keep yer eyes here brother...will ALWAYS keep the info coming. So far, other than the return of some...not much new to consider. Although NBC has that Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde looking DO NO HARM with Steven Pasquale from Rescue Me(dumb Sean, not black Sean) and James Cromwell(who is SO good on AHS). They seem high on it, doing a LOT of promo.

Actually think that other Showtime show...is it Ray Donovan??? w/Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight looks solid too.

Yeah, I think we're going to give them both a shot just to see.

JD, what about that other new FX show, Legit? Any thoughts on that? The commercials I've seen so far didn't do much for me, but it's FX, so...

Oh NO!!!! I GUARANTEE that show will be awesome. Jim Jefferies is ridiculously funny and DJ Qualls(who I have always liked) is in the cast as his brother w/cp. It will be crass and dark and funny.

Have you seen Jim Jeffries stand up? Its hilarious and soo wrong.

Seems like every decade...someone tries. Usually with mixed results. Not terribly surprising with the experimental nature of American Horror Story having success...

Bryan Singer to Produce TWILIGHT ZONE TV Series Reboot | Collider

I've always thought that M Night Shyamalan should just make a Twilight Zone series instead of his movies.

Imagine how much better received things like The Village and The Happening would have been as one hour episodes of 13 episode seasons of a new Twilight Zone.

IMAGINE!!!
