All Things: TELEVISON

Justified is my favorite show.

I watched another episode of The Burn on Comedy Central last night. Thought it was pretty goddamn funny. The parts with the other comics, anyway. When it's just Jeff Ross, it's ok.

All of a sudden there are hosts of watchable sitcoms on television and the networks have to pull the plug on two of them (never saw Wedding Band). Maybe they can cancel Happy Endings and Community tomorrow to make it a really stellar week.

TBS, get cracking. You can make a whole night of sitcoms the networks shat on.

My DVR is so full from vacation in Nov and Dec that I shouldn't watch anything new (worst offender is that I'm 7 eps behind on Arrow). Tried 20 mins of The Following and thought it was 'meh'. Watched first Ep of Banshee and while it was decent, I have no time for it.

I am 14 episodes behind on both The Office and Parks And Recreation, going back to last April. I also have all 13 episodes of Awake, which I may watch one day or just say "screw it" and delete them.

I also gave The Following a 'meh'. Respect for the Poe references, but the cliched damaged lead and brilliant but insane killer is beyond tired. I may keep watching it just for the inevitable TMQ segment on how ludicrous it is, though.

Awake was a great show that didn't get to live. Shameful. Watch it. And I have to disagree on the Following. Yes...cliche ridden. But it's what you do with your influences that counts. I'm sorry...but Kevin Bacon just sold it for me. It played like a movie and I am extremely interested in where they will be going with it. Bums me out that you didn't like it because I was heading here to praise it. If you missed it(everyone else) it is repeating Friday night. Judge for yourself.

I didn't like it personally, it wasn't like it was completely terrible but starting the episode by playing Marilyn Manson was the opening salvo of many other cliches to come. It's not without some redeeming qualities and I like Kevin Bacon but it just isn't for me.

Wow...I really liked the Following. Am I the only one. And yeah...Sweet Dreams is horribly overused, but I was able to look past that because it really worked the way they used it. Like I said, it is cliche heavy...but they did enough right with overused stuff that I thought they really overcame that. How can you not like Kevin Bacon?

Apparently Leo has a webcast called twit.tv or something that is similar to screensavers. I'm gonna have to check it out.

Everyone gets a second episode unless the first one is just plain awful, and I do owe The Following a debt of gratitude for making Winona disappear from Justified, so I'll see how next week's airing goes.

I'll try to keep Awake on the DVR, but it could be 2017 when I watch it since it goes behind shows that are still in production. Being 78% full with February sweeps coming up is not a good place to be.

Do No Harm just looks dumb as hell. Is it just me? I mean... come on.... Dr. J. Cole? Eeeeeeeeeeeeesh
