“I talked to Yvonne [Strahovski] maybe a month ago and said, ‘If I can get this movie made, would you be open to doing [it]? Even an online version of it?’ And she was totally game. So I know that I’ve got the cast and crew on board.”
They started to make a 24 movie, but there was a mole inside the studio and he stole the footage and gave it to North Korean sleeper agents.
Telling ya give Copper a try.
This is why I love Yvonne Strahovski, she is freaking awesome!
Speaking of movies... where the hell is my 24 movie?!?! Dammnit!!!
Top of the Lake is, above all, haunting, and its central mystery both grounds the storytelling while propelling it forward. It’s an intensely engaging work if you give it time to tell its story, though I would argue it grabs you from its very first scene which is both mysterious and dramatic. The accents can be dense at times, but the work is not inaccessible in the least. Elizabeth Moss sports a slight accent of her own that she handles very well — she’s really incredible in her role, which requires her to be stripped down in very raw ways.
This is one of the best series of its kind that has come around in a long time, so even though it’s slightly hidden on the Sundance Channel, take the time to find it. You won’t be disappointed.
It's a remarkable miniseries, and one that I eagerly dived into. (The imagery alone is incredible, with one scene on a rocky cliff a reminder of how nature can be so beautiful and terrifying at once.) It also speaks to the value of the miniseries genre, where you can tell a story, tell it well, and get out before you've created too many problems for the sake of perpetuating the franchise. "The Killing" had many, many problems, but I at least wonder what it might have been like if Sud had been told it would begin and end within those original 13 episodes.
But that's a hypothetical. This is an absolute: "Top of the Lake" is great.
Yes! It's ridiculous but the last 2 or 3 episodes were so much stupid fun.Cinemax's 'Banshee' Wraps Solid First Season - Deadline.com
Gonna have to go back and watch this...stopped after the ridiculous episode with the MMA fighter just because it wasn't dumb fun, just dumb. Anyone stick with it? I wanted and still want to like it so bad...no spoilers please just let me know if it's worth sticking with???
Though I’ve only seen the first handful of episodes, I fully plan to stick with this series for the long haul. It’s a brilliant reinvention of the Psycho mythos - full of horror, heart, and the blackest of humor. If A&E and the "Bates Motel" showrunners can continue to keep the quality this high, I’ve no doubt that the series will sit comfortably alongside other quality genre programming such as "American Horror Story" and "The Walking Dead". If you’re a fan of Psycho, horror shows, or just damned good television, be sure to check in to the "Bates Motel." It’ll be well worth your visit.
