All Things: TELEVISON

Dman, you really should go on Netflix and check Reaper out. The thing that bugs me, it didn't necessarily get cancelled due to ratings. It basically didn't fit in with the WB's youth pandering. Meaning it was not overly simple and had characters over 20 years old. They were really heading towards interesting territory when they ended.

The previews really haven't intrigued me THAT much, but I'm still going to give it a go tonight after Spartacus. Mostly just because I'm going to need something to fill the Spartacus-sized hole in my heart after tonight.

Speaking of our favorite Roman fighter I heard tonight's episode was epic! Glad to hear!

it seriously was! I couldn't be happier with the way they ended the show. a truly great finale.

and yes, I openly wept. a lot.

Defiance starts tonight...hurm, not sure what to think there.

Had a little Vikings mini-run last night. It's a little show, but definitely watchable. And Floki kicks ass.

I am looking forward to Hannibal, hey Doc, you out there? Wondering what your feelings are on Hannibal?

So I watched the 1st two episodes last night.

It's a little House/Psych/The Mentalist/Elementaryish with a trouble protagonist who is a brilliant but broken man.... BUT......

the Hannibal twist is enough to keep it interesting (for now) AND..... man is it grizzly.

So far I'm entertained.

Thanks Doc, I have been holding off...still burned from Network tv. But word of mouth has been good, and the ratings, while not spectacular, seem to be holding. Probably gonna jump in too now.

Pretty much agree with Doc.

Needs more Mikkelsen, though.

I'm glad they held back in the first episode. I think this show is kind of like a romantic comedy show. The strength of the show is the will they/won't they tension. We all know "they will" but if you get to it too quickly then the show is over.

Indeed.

Similarly...

***MINOR SPOILERS***

I really like that we don't know exactly how (or even if) Hannibal fits in to the murders. We hear that a dead girls lungs have been removed and then the scene cuts to Hannibal butchering some lungs, obviously trying to lead the viewer to put the two together, but I don't know. Odd that he called and warned the first guy over the phone, too. Not sure how it all connects yet. I like that.

Woo, Deadliest Catch is back! I don't know why I love that stupid show, I just do.

I don't get Starz, but we had the free preview of it last week and I DVR'd DaVinci's Demons. Watched it last night, this could be a fun show to watch. If anyone keeps watching it let me know how it goes, I might have to find a way to start watching

Anybody watching the Bates Motel?

I haven't gotten around to it.

It's the best WORST show on tv. Really...it's overwhelming. Vera Farmiga keeps threatening to go all Faye Dunaway/Mommie Dearest and Norman would not be a serial killer, he would be an avowed homosexual. The Creeperson family managed to move into a town with militarized pot farms, said business related body torchings, questionable lawmen who just manage to show up at the perfect time but can be taking a pee right next to a murdered body in a tub and not notice, Norman being more American Beauty than Norman Bates, an 'evil' stepbrother, oh yeah, and really overt and disturbing incestual aspirations.

Don't get me wrong, it's a hoot. ****ing HI-larious.

Oh yeah, and half the time the motel looks like a bad matte painting with wheels on the bottom. Telling you, it's a great show for all the wrong reasons.

Did I mention Asian sex slavery ring and naughty manga???? Yeah, you know you want some Adgy.
