All Things: TELEVISON

Anyone watching the new shows on Comedy Central?

I enjoy the Jeselnick Offensive, but have yet to watch Nathan For You or The Ben Show. I have, though, become a big fan of Workaholics and am looking forward to Inside Amy Schumer.

I love Anthony Jeselnik, but find his show hit or miss. Some of the panel comics are funny, some aren't. While I do laugh a lot, jokes aren't nearly as offensive (or often as funny) as in his standup. But his delivery is just so good regardless..

Season finale review: Southland - Reckoning: End of watch?

Sorry Southland fans, reading that this may indeed be the last episode of the show. The ratings have been down on most TNT shows and this one is definitely on the bad side of the bubble.

Haven't watched the finale yet, but the episode before that was brilliance. Very intense and deeply dark. The show needs to be renewed just based on that, but it is always well-written and well-acted and a lot more in touch with reality than any major-network police drama.

Damn, without spoiling it...the Finale was pretty good. One of the only shows I actually watch week to week.

Changing topic....

I REALLY hate the arch Pam and Jim are taking on The Office. I was watching some re-runs on TBS the other day when they were just friends and seeing them then to now....pissed me off.

they had to do something? It's been stale and old for awhile. The thing with the camera man was just weird.

It was pretty funny when the congressman guy announced he was gay. Surprise for Angela, no love for Oscar. Kevin hid the secret!

OOOf BobNot and whoever else is with us on the BBC shows...not sure i liked Copper, sure liked Ripper Street much better.

Spoilers, Maguire should be hanged for the murders he commited...not sure where else they can go with that. Didn't like Miss Havorsham(or whatever) appearing to be a confederate symp either. And now Corky is on the junk...straight outta nowhere. And the whole thing with richie rich and his dad. Nah...on the fence on this show. Too many wretched folks. And the little girl stuff is icky. Like Doc Freeman(the only character untainted btw) but his simpering mope of a wife...can't stand her. My boy Donal Logue has a run next season so lets see where that takes it. I will watch, but Ripper is FAR superior.

And Orphan Black is getting up my nose. Now she is gonna learn how to be a cop by abusing the IT guy? Yeah, not so much. Although Fi and his foppy over the topness is starting to grow on me as comic relief. Can't tell if the main character is hot or not. What say you Bob. I kinda like the dreadhead version of her or the original the best.

By the end of the season I was kinda over copper, i will start watching when it comes on again but it is on the verge of being outed. I already stopped orphan black, I think I made it halfway through the second episode.

Anyone watching Rogue? How is it?

Great line regarding halle berry having a kid at her age last night..."her new book is 'what to expect when you're expecting.......your kid to have down syndrome'"

ZOMBIELAND Series Pilot Recap and Review | Collider

The character relationships may feel forced and lacking in the chemistry department, but the production quality is pretty solid. They don’t have a movie budget by any means but the post-apocalyptic world feels properly disheveled and devoid of life. The make-up is acceptable for a low-budget zom-com and the effects clearly receive the bulk of the budget. There are also a few good gags and one-liners scattered throughout the opening trial episode. Unfortunately it’s not enough to hook me into future viewings. I’ve got nothing invested in these rehashed characters and the post-apocalyptic relationship storyline did nothing for me. Pilot episodes have notoriously difficult job of establishing tone and character for an entire series, so I’ll give Zombieland the benefit of the doubt on that front. Luckily, you can check the pilot out for yourself for free at Amazon and rate it to let them know whether or not it should continue to a full season. As for my opinion…

Rating: 5/10

See i found Ripper to be too formulaic. And while you find it hard to like the characters in Copper I feel that way about the characters in Ripper all be it in a different way. Copper does have its flaws but i do find it entertaining and the same goes for Ripper.

I'm conflicted with this show. I feel much the same way you do about it. I do think she does a good job playing the different characters but at the same time it seems like wigs are the only thing they can come up with to differentiate the clones. They look a bit silly. As far as the plot goes, her becoming a cop is far fetched but hey its in her dna right? I'll give it a few more episodes before i give up on it.

Biggest complaint with Copper is that they are trying to do too much. It's like you can't get a grip on a character because they keep Shamalaying their motivations. I like the show...to an extent. It's just hard to really like it when, as soon as you think you understand a character they do a 180 on them. The only one who seems steady is the Doc, and maybe the irish(yeah like that narrows it down) big guy whos wife beats him. Would you be ok with Maguire resuming his place after the 2 episode confessional he had(that was a weeeeee bit too tidy as well, almost as if they swept all their troubles under the rug...and he happened to be the rug). Like I said, i will watch season 2, and hopefully they don't keep musical chair-ing the leads. I am honestly looking forward to Donal Logue stepping in, in the promo he has a bit of sophisticted gentleman look about him, maybe he ties into the Morehouse storyline.

Good point on Orpan Black too. Her mannerisms are good but the do her a disservice with the laughable costuming/wigs they use...geez the German gal was p...u! Don't know if you are watching, but, The Americans, which I love, has a similar problem. Terrible wigs and glasses as disguises and they are '70's influenced too so they look even more shabby.

I fell asleep when i was watching the first episode of The Americans and never got around to watching it again.

Its been a while and i need to re watch the last couple eps of Copper but yeah i think they could have handled Mcquire's sotryline a bit better.

You should give Americans another chance. First few episodes were set-up. It's settled into a real good pace since episode 3 or so.

RECTIFY Series Premiere Recap and Review | Collider

Starts on Sundance tonight. Still have to finish 2nd half of Top of the Lake(which it replaces), but based on the first 4 eps I watched you should check it out(it's up on Netflix now...top of the lake is). Rectify looks good although I keep hearing it is sloooooooowwwwwwwwllllllllyyyyyyy paced, so be mindful if that's not your thing.

Vikings season finale' next Sunday. Considering they never even conceived of a second season(which they were surprised to get) their claims of YOU...WON'T...SEE...THIS...COMING are probably not as hollow as most such claims. Nice to see Donal Logue.

And, I just want to thank Carlton Cuse and the creators of Bates Motel. Stiil, the best show on tv for all the wrong reasons. RuPauls Drag Race is actually less ridiculous/more believable.
