All Things: TELEVISON

Ok, so I am officially on s2 of Sherlock. That's it so far right guys? I think the format is perfect for the show. 3 extended eps and out. Any more and you risk being very repetetive(it already kinda is @ 3) and creating foes equal to the task would be troublesome and credibility stretching. So far, I LIKE it...don't get the universal praise that gets heaped on it. It's clumsy at times(especially when Sherlock does any physical fighting) and they are already overusing the 'Sherlock vision' like i feared they might. But the characters' the thing. Like the little easter eggs, like the houndstooth cap, and the S-Vision in the episode with 'the Woman(that ending btw was silly...just silly)' where Sherlock looked at said Woman and came up with all ????????(who hasn't, right fellas). So, for the most part it is enjoyable if a tad overrated.

Why Doc? I said I liked it...I am just not enamored of it like the bunch of you who hocked me ad nauseum are. I stated my reasons. Perhaps instead of just generalizing and casting aspersions on my taste you could maybe, I dunno, tell me why I am wrong?

I agree the 1 1/2 hour format with 3 eps a season is a good format for the show, although it took some getting used to. I think the guy that plays Moriarty does a great job. At first i didnt care for him but after a few eps you get used to his mannerisms and what not. He ends up being the main reason i liked the show so much.

See...I liked Moriarty instantly. And the tweak they use to update him...Consulting Criminal as opposed to Sherlock's Consulting Detective. One of the many things I like on a show I like overall. Watson's fail of a love life is pretty funny too and the constant suggestions they he and S are a couple are hilarious. I hope in the 2 episodes I have left they reference the drug addiction a little more. Would like to see Sherlock get uprooted a bit. LIKE I SAID, I LIKE THE SHOW DOC. Perhaps just not as much as you do.

Rectify, which was a Sundance channels show is out today on dvd/blu. Maybe not worth a buy, but definitely worth a rent. I expect it to follow Top of the Lake(another Sundance show) to Netflix eventually...so if you want to wait there is a good chance. It's a real good show though. Sad as hell and well acted.

That's a lot of meh. That Dracula show looks...sorry...toothless.

Only good thing about Ironside is that it has Brent Sexton(the Killing/Justified).

Review: NBCs Crossing Lines takes Criminal Minds formula to Europe

Fichtner, who did a long stint on "Prison Break" (and has headlined short-lived dramas like "Invasion" and "MDs"), does some solid work as the damaged American, and the ensemble as a whole ? including Donald Sutherland as a lawyer at The Hague who helps authorize the group's existence, and Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H'Ghar from "Game of Thrones") as the German tech expert ? is strong. The production values from shooting in Europe are also excellent, and other than some shots of the Eiffel Tower to establish location, the show doesn't suffer from the need to put a major landmark in the back of every shot when the cops go from country to country.

There's potentially a very interesting show about cops from different cultures, with different methods of policing, learning to work together. Based on the pilot, at least, "Crossing Lines" just treats all that as window dressing for the same old, same old.

Ok, I'm in on this simply cause of Fichtner. But Jaqen H'Qar TOO. IN!

As much as I enjoy Grimm of what it is.......

I cannot imagine it being any good moving forward.
