Seriously...go on here and watch. Me and the Q were watching last night and we had to keep rewinding because we were laughing so damned hard. Rocky Dennis' Clumpy Marshmallow Faces...that's all I have to say.

Man. this was a bit of a buzzer at SDCC. I admire McFarlane for branching out and using his name to get this done. Neil deGrasse Tyson seems to be a HUGE fan fave too.

I really like Chris Hardwick, so maybe I'm biased, but I LOVE this show. I watch it and just cackle like a witch. it's glorious and I reeeeally hope it stays around.

I like CH too. I LOVE the show. Doc Naysay...not the biggest fan, and he(maybe) likes the show...it's funny as hell. Glad you weighed in.

I know someone on the writing staff. I still don't think Chris Hardwick is funny or interesting enough to warrant his current role as "Assistant Pope of Nerd-dom"

I have nothing against Hardwick. More power to him, especially if he hit that during the Singled Out days.
My DVR locked up Wednesday, forcing me to have to blow through Revolution so I can watch the one that didn't record while it is available on demand. Three or four episodes in, I actually think it has improved over the first season. Expanding the world is really paying off, although I have a hard time with the show expecting me to be down with the former villains.
I thought the last Shield Agents show (Vic Mackey does not think I should call it just Shield) was its strongest, but it still needs fewer college kids and more grownups on the theoretically most important team in the world. The return of the Centipede plot shows that there is a plan, which is good. Now bring in Joss to write and direct an episode. At least the show will get a boost for the second season when Robin Scherbotsky presumably joins the team.
Speaking of, last week How I Met Doogie finally managed a good episode this season, even if I was doing the Last Crusade knight routine since the movie came out. It still worked, especially the bad Wesley pun. Even the Marshall scenes were watchable. Might be time for the mother to show up again, though.

Dunno Doc, his moderator gigs at Comicon are always perfect. Just the right amount of fanboy and he keeps them moving without stepping on anyone. It's tricky and its easier to tell when someone does it wrong as opposed to when someone gets it so right. He also comes off as genuine and sincere, which goes a long way. Think of it like this...he is the NERD equivalent of Ryan Seacrest, adds little, but keeps things moving while being likeable. And @Midnight puts him in the perfect light...a game show host.

I may have spoken too soon about Revolution. In the second to last episode, a character picked up the ridiculous ability to do magic. Lame explanation upcoming in the next episode, no doubt.

Keeping in mind I didn't see anything from the first two seasons, I've watched the 3 episodes from American Horror Story:Coven. Looks great and filled with some amazing individual performances, and I am already scarred for life.

I am not comparing douche factor. But I think Hardwick fills the same niche that Seacrest does. The go-to guy for hosting duties, etc. That was my point. Probably not the best comparison but you hinted that he is some kind of KING nerd, when in fact he is more the Court Jester nerd type. I can't convince you to like Hardwick but I do think the man is very good at what he does. His handling of a rambling MArilyn Manson on Talking Dead the other night was certainly interesting.

What is his job and does anybody need to do it?
Jay Flats is good at his job and he seems like a nice guy and I would never begrudge anybody a paycheck... but it's often asked... do we need/want someone in that job?
Chris Hardwick has seized one branch of the tri-corner crown of Nerd-dom with Kevin Smith and Patton Oswalt and I simply have to ask.... do we need/want an "organized religion" approach to geekdom?
I say NO!
Clearly the masses say yes.
I'm learning to live with it.

I would give them a shot - new faces should remove the overwhelming staleness of the show and I think the odds are better that the people who can make good How I Met Doogie episodes can make a good new show than one more random group making one more random sitcom. If it stinks, I won't watch it. A lot of it will be the casting, though. They worked magic (minus Ted) the first time around. It is a shame Rachel Bilsson is locked up in crap, but most of the Happy Endings cast are free agents as far as I know.
