All Things: TELEVISON

The hard drive on my DVR went in the crapper so i lost all that stuff a while back

If someone can lead me in the right direction for DVR to external HDD transfer, I'd gladly send anyone a copy of all the Kings games from the '12 cup run.

I have all the games "Kept" on 2 different DVR's but every once in a while the Direct DVR Receiver gets a bug up its ass and unlocks them. DTV is great but their receivers and receiver UI are s***.

One thing i will give TWC credit for is their new DVR UI is really nice. Everything else on the other hand...

Direct TV's UI has always been garbage. I went from Dish, which had incredible UI but crappy service to Direct about 10 years ago. DTV's UI is tantamount to using a Commodore 64 compared to Dish. But Id rather have the impeccable service over bells and whistles. Dish is complete crap.

Fios's UI, OTOH, is a complete mess. I dont know how people use that.

WOOOOOO!! I was totally expecting it to be cancelled so this is a nice surprise. Here's hoping they can turn the show around and bring it back to the awesome campiness that was Season 1!

yay! I still haven't finished season 2 yet, but I thought I was the only one who thought it was getting "weird". (and by "weird" I mean "not good")

I almost lost all the 2012 SCF on my Direct DVR last week when my teen daughter decided to series record some bullschit Nickelodeon teeny bopper show. I caught it about 2 hours before the SCF HDD space was going to get gobbled up. I need to figure out a way to rip those games off the DVR man, I'm playing with fire.

There is a way....have to research again. I will get back to you.

Nope, you definitely are not alone! Season 2 was so awful, but they pretty much fixed everything in the last 3-4 episodes and now it can be awesome again and I'm super excited.

If you need to get stuff off of a PVR the only way to do it is to burn it on a DVD-R.

I suspect it is probably the same for all US providers as what we have up here, but all the data on the drive is encrypted, so you can't just copy it over to your computer and then watch it (or upload to those filthy pirate sites LOL).

Our PVR (ancient Dish Technology used by Bell) can add external USB drives but even then, it is tied to the terminal. Thus the DVD-R.

...I don't think I'll be adding it to my (already almost full) DVR.

You should be able to lock the files so it deletes newer content instead.

I used a PVR to get the last 2 Cup games off my dvr. It was TLA madness.

Im enjoying the new American Dads...makes the show a bit better letting them cuss. For my money, Roger is one of the best animated characters ever.

I pretty much have the same problem, with an overstuffed DVR that gets older by the day (crazy, right?). I'd love to be able to have my 2012 games and/or 2014 on discs instead of in my DVR that one day I have to give back to my evil cable company (hopefully on a magical day where I cut the cord).

TiVo can send programs wirelessly to a computer as long as the show does not have copy protection on it. I use to do that but I have no need to do it anymore.

I hated Directv's channel line up. The UI was meh but I had a hard time finding the channel I wanted to watch and that was even with a favorites list. It seemed like channels were all over the place.

I have Fios with TiVo now so I have the best of both worlds. I don't have to deal with the Fios UI.

Y'know...I'm not feeling it as much. I loved the show before but, to me, the only thing EXTREME about these episodes has been the EXTREME annoyance I have felt every time they go to/come back from a break and crow about the new EXTREME American Dad. I do agree with you about Roger, I just don't think they have been using him enough. Halee is McFarland giving his sister a gig and that's as annoying as it sounds. They need to do more of the episodes with Scottie and Snot and the other two kids. But yeah...more Roger too. I think my biggest complaint is that the episodes have not been absurd enough...almost too standard sit-com-y.

And speaking of which, looks like another MAN is being added to Last Man on Earth. And the beard is gone...talk about becoming a standard sit-com. It's funny sure, but I am getting more resentful about the lie this show is based on.

LOL....I actually stopped watching- largely due to this thread and your commentary. If they break the shows premise within such a short time frame just speaks volumes about the writing.
