All Things: TELEVISON

And speaking of which, looks like another MAN is being added to Last Man on Earth. And the beard is gone...talk about becoming a standard sit-com. It's funny sure, but I am getting more resentful about the lie this show is based on.

If that happens, they are definitely cheating, but I am very thankful the dude lost the crazy-man beard. Between him and Rick Grimes, I have had enough crazy-man beards to last me until 2040. Most shows tend to drag things out way too long, while this one seem to want to blow through every idea as quickly as humanly possible without coming close to fully exploring them.

HOW ARE MORE PEOPLE NOT WATCHING BLACK SAILS?!?!

so. damn. good.

I'm all caught up and it's some good ****! Having a hard time convincing friends of its worth, "pirates" isn't exactly a selling notion to anyone past their early teens.

Also almost caught up on Vikings, nearly done with season 2. (Is this the thread for it?)

Took me a while to get started but it's solid. I think the pilot episode wasn't very representative of the show or the look of it. Must say the quality improves a whole lot as the show goes on.

One thing I found surprising having just watched episode 7 of season 2 is that the show has been kind of light on the whole sex and gore thing. The violence was there but rarely excessive, I hadn't seen any real nudity, sex scenes were often of the clothed variety or hidden in shadows... Then all of a sudden in this one episode they show butt, boobs, naked sex scene and a guy getting the whole "blood eagle" treatment. Geez, what happened? I'm all for it but I do find the sudden change surprising.

Vikings started small...budget wise and scope wise. Each season in turn has been more successful and History has invested in the show. The third season is light years removed from the first so far. It is a little solemn and grim, maybe more than some would like. But yeah...keep watching.
The sad thing about Black Sails is that it isn't just pirates. It's history and politics and more. It's a shame that people see Starz, and Michael Bay's name attached, and they think less of the show. It's one of the few tv shows that I will not watch in standard def, simply because it is a remarkably beautiful thing to look at in glorious hd.

The biggest problem with The Last Man On Earth is not that the title is a lie, it is that the main character is a douche who lately talks in a really annoying squeaky voice for more than half of each episode.

OH SWEET **** YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Black Sails
Black Sails Brethren, we have news from Nassau. Ray Stevenson has been cast as Blackbeard, one of the world’s most notorious pirates in Season 3 of Black Sails

If I can't have him as the dread pirate Greyjoy, this'll do!!!!!

Every story I read today about X-Files failed to mention the movies... at all, the last of which was in 2008. Guess that's an eon in Hollywood time.
