All Things: TELEVISON

I endured the last two episodes of Hannibal. Thank you for cancelling this NBC. I am too far in to stop watching, so I appreciate you saving me from myself.

BTW, has there ever been a show with more self indulgent shots of glasses dropping in slow motion to shatter on the floor. It should be a drinking game at this point. Without the distractingly beautiful and morbid scenes of Hannibal preparing human flesh for consumption, this show is soooooooooo hollow.

I've finally started watching Parks & Recreation. Even though I'm only in the 2nd season, I can't believe I wasn't watching this when it was on the air. This show is made for me. On the bright side, I've got plenty of episodes to see.

One of the best!

Anybody watch Walter Blunt on Starz.com yet? They have the first 2 episodes.

I always hate watching stuff prior to it actually being out, though, since then I have to wait weeks for the next episode.

"Disneyland will soon have its own Star Wars theme park. In related news, I'm rock hard right now." - Chris Hardwick

I don't know why, but his delivery of that line on @Midnight last night had me rolling over laughing

Anyone kept up with Falling Skies?

The whole army barrack saga was completely unnecessary and wasted 3 episodes. They should've just focused this whole season on the final battle. Now 2 episodes left and they still have to deal with Pope as well as whatever the end game is.

I thought those episodes were pretty good and were probably used to save budget for a big finale. The Pope storyline, on the other hand, is just annoying, even if it did manage to really separate him from being Sawyer from Lost. Even more annoying will be when he flips back and sacrifices himself against the aliens.

Eh Pope seems too far gone for that.

SPOILER ALERT

I figured at the end it was going to be Tom who had to sacrifice himself for the greater good. Or perhaps Tom traps Pope and they go at the same time a la Frodo/Smeagol if Frodo had actually fallen in with him.

I don't know, the Pope storyline could've easily filled a few episodes in prior seasons. The army barracks, just seemed like we've been through it before. Oooh people we think are on our side, turn out to be bad, but a small few of them come through with their humanity.

Is Black Sails on Netflix, I hafta check. I am still working on the first season of Penny Dreadful!!

I am so bad with TV. But so many good shows to watch.

Even my mother is better up to date with shows, haha. She watches Orange Is the New Black, haha.

I haven't gotten around to it even though it's on NETFLIX!!! Fail! :fpalm:

I don't think so...with all the self generated streaming sites something like Black Sails is likely to be kept in house to beef up StarzOnDemand or whatever their service is.

Today Is The 10-Year Anniversary Of The Best Series Finale Ever
http://uproxx.com/tv/2015/08/six-feet-under-finale/

Look, the last few seasons of Six Feet Under turned into a very mediocre soap opera with occasional flares of brilliant oddness...but talk about sticking the landing. That closing sequence at the end of the last episode still ****ing devastates me...

apparently the video clip is not embeddable

spoiler alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I make educated guesses based on my familiarity with television and movie writers' endless dependency on clich?.

It is what allowed me to instantly identify the 'agents about to storm the building this guy is in as we cut back and forth between the guy and the agents and then amazingly they are not storming the building he is in but a completely different building' technique in a recent movie. It's been 30 years since Silence Of The Lambs. Mix in something new. Or at the very least, put the lotion in the basket.

Anyone else watch that new Patrick Stewart show? I enjoyed it.

Between it and Black Sails, I almost signed up for Starz, but... $13/month for two shows? I can't.
