All Things: TELEVISON

**** just got real in the fourth ep! :O

I have been enjoying the series. The series did start slow, but I think that it's was important to set the tone and the characters, which the series has done. Things have really started happening now and I can't wait to see how it ends.

Oh man. Poor Cheep.
That was tense.

And yeah, the scene on the glider and the banter back and forth...Purefoy finally crossed over. They ARE Hap and Leonard. Well done.

Latest on TNT’s Tales from the Crypt Will Make You Smile
http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/158821/latest-tnts-tales-crypt-will-make-smile/

Over the weekend, Shyamalan was on hand at Wondercon, and Slash Film‘s coverage of the event brings us a few quotes that offer more insight into the project. For starters, he confirmed that the Crypt Keeper will be in the show, though as we recently learned, the character is undergoing a total redesign – HBO owns the rights to the Crypt Keeper we know and love.

But what about the format? Though early reports indicated that the new “Tales from the Crypt” would tell one story across an entire season, making it similar to the “American Horror Story” approach to the anthology format, Shyamalan now seems more interested in sticking to the classic formula of telling one individual story per episode.

“You know, I can’t say 100% but I’m thinking right now, where I am, if you’d asked me this six months ago I would have a different answer, but where I am right now it’s more individual Black Mirror kind of stuff right now,” Shyamalan said.

‘Mythbusters’ Is Coming Back… On A Different Channel… With Different Hosts
http://uproxx.com/tv/mythbusters-science-channel-new-hosts/

Yup, the Science Channel — sister network of Discovery — has plans to revive the series already. And it has plans to find its new hosts, too. And if you’re sitting there right now saying, “I bet they’re doing a reality show,” then buddy, hop a train to Hollywood, because you have television in 2016 figured out.

The competition will start with 15 participants who look to solve challenges that include classic myths from the show as well as new myths. Hopefuls will be eliminated on each episode by a panel of judges — consisting of those who have been involved with MythBusters at some point over the years — until the final picks are made. [Science Channel general manager Marc] Etkind says it could be one person or several people, depending on what happens.

Mel Gibson Is Coming To TV For A Series About 19th Century Charlatans
http://uproxx.com/tv/mel-gibson-barbary-coast/

Hollywood stars crossing over into television is nothing new at this point. It’s becoming increasingly common for networks to fill their schedules with limited series that allow actors to sign-up without committing to years on a single project. So this next bit of news probably isn’t as surprising as it might be on first glance: Mel Gibson is set to direct, co-write, and co-star in a new series that is being put together by a production company.

The series is based on the book The Barbary Coast by Herbert Asbury, author of Gangs of New York. It will star Kurt Russell and Kate Hudson and is being described thusly:

The Barbary Coast begins with The Gold Rush in 1849 which saw the biggest influx of gold-seekers, gamblers, thieves, harlots, politicians and other felonious parasites to the infant city. Thus arose a unique criminal district that for almost seventy years was the scene of more viciousness and depravity – yet at the same time possessed more glamour and intrigue – than any other area of vice and iniquity on the American continent.

Mel is 'troubled', but I have to say...you gimme Kurt Russell in a show about one of the more colorful times in American history...and I WANT IT.

Wow. Halving the cast and the episode order just to prolong a show that gets marginal ratings. OOf, can't imagine Fillion is real happy with them developments.

Maybe if the show ends, that will open a door to more Dr Horrible or Firefly. Wishful thinking for sure.

If they want to half-ass a half season with half the lead characters just to fill time when some terrible new show inevitably fails, why not just make another terrible new show instead. Who knows, maybe that one will be the one that people watch or maybe is even not terrible. Or supersize some Fresh Off The Boat episodes. Or make a spinoff of the Goldbergs about that Rush fan kid from the one episode of the Goldbergs I have ever seen. Or let that woman that makes all your dramas make another drama I won't watch. Or hey, there hasn't been another new singing competition in years. Or don't cancel Agent Carter. Yeah, the last one.

Is anyone from Firefly that tied up now? Several years ago everyone was on something, but now Inara having a minor role on Gotham is all I can think of, other than Captain Mal.

With the technology we have today, a Firefly reboot would be great. I don't know why they don't want to do it. Seems like everything else is getting a reboot. :(

I can see Netflix getting involved. It's almost guaranteed to disappoint though after all the years of hoping and begging. Sadly, like Chuck would probably do.
