All Things: TELEVISON

Anyone here watched Timeless last night?

I enjoyed it enough to want more. so that's always a good thing. Every time travel shows have their own little rules don't they? For Timeless, they say that you can't go back to the time period you were in.. which means no re-dos if/when you screw up. Something about not being able to see your own body double. I think Back to the Future nailed it when it came to body doubles and how they tried their best to avoid each other.

If the show gets a full season, I wonder how deep they'll go, story-wise with the timelines being altered. It would be hectic to keep track of, but that's the fun part about time travel. I'm just afraid that the general audience (which is typically stupid by the way) will tune out if it gets too complicated.

Here is some reading material TC

The Parents TV Council Briefly Stops Complaining About ‘Family Guy’ In Order To Save ‘Pitch’

The PTC is pleading for people to watch Pitch. Through two episodes, Fox’s new sports-drama about Major League Baseball’s first female player is corny, overly sentimental, and “something still feels like it’s missing,” as our own Jason Tabrys wrote in his review, but I can’t stop watching. It’s highly enjoyable. A large part of that is due to Kylie Bunbury’s star-making turn as Ginny Baker, but Pitch is also an important show, and that’s why the PTC wants Fox to move the series to a different timeslot. Right now, it’s on at the same time as ratings giant Thursday Night Football, and it’s getting destroyed. The stupid “Cancel Bear” is ready to attack, but Pitch can be saved.

Ok. So we have our leader into the clubhouse as far as cancellation goes. BUT, there is going to be such a diversity/sexism backlash if it does get canned. Suppose Fox relents to moving it to another timeslot, say...after Empire. So you have a good lead in, and it's paired with a show that may draw some of the same viewers. And it still bombs. Then what? So Fox is looking down the barrel of a backlash, simply for trying out a show with all the elements people have been demanding. And they are damned if they do...damned if they don't. You know what that does for your enforced diversity? Makes the next guy reluctant to take a chance. And who is demanding this 'equality'? Non television viewers apparently. You can't force art to have quotas. It's a different animal.

Loved loved loved Timeless. Just a fun adventure with a lot of potential arcs woven in from the beginning. Bright (a contrast in this day) but at the same time reasonably deep (for a network show) with the last victim at the blimp and the changes when they got back. I hope so much they have a plan and don't end up making it up as they go along.

Speaking of making things up as they go along, Gotham has just gone completely in the toilet. It is now the show that its detractors claimed it always was. Pick a random Batman villain, spin the wheel of random plots, no long term consequences to anything.

I can't imagine there will be any backlash whatsoever with Pitch being cancelled because no one bothered to care about it in the first place. There was zero hype to the point I thought it must be a midseason show. Fox may still go easy on the trigger right now since they still have to figure out what they are doing with all those American Idol hours to fill.

Pitch had to be the dumbest idea for a new show I ever saw. And as far as letting the fickle viewers decide I have always felt the "viewers" were something like this:

Watch Candace Cameron Bure Freak Out as Daughter Natasha Joins Team Adam Levine on The Voice

And what made Natasha’s audition even better was her famous mom’s reaction after Levine pressed his buzzer. “Shut up!” The View star excitedly said along with a cheering section that included husband Valeri Bure and family.

I guess Candace Cameron Bure is more famous than Valeri, because this paragraph was totally buried in the story, and no mention of Valeri's hockey career. Nonetheless, good luck to Natasha Bure on The Voice.

Here in the U.S he's known as that dude who played hockeyorsomething that married Candace Cameron.

In Russia he's known as that dude who is the brother of Pavel Bure who might have also played hockeyorsomething. mhihi:

don't know if it's in this clip, but at one point Candace says while backstage, "Smile honey!" and Valeri says, "She's Russian, she doesn't have to smile". I was laughing so hard at that! The daughter was pretty good, by the way.

I'm laughing so hard, also.
