All Things: TELEVISON

That Chicago Universe crossover last night was bad ass. They aired Fire at 8, PD at 9, and Justice at 10. The way it way filmed and directed the 3 episodes felt like a movie rather than a typical episode.

It was a true crossover too, as they all had significant screen time in each of the first two hours. There was none of that "this is a crossover episode but the characters from other shows won't show up until the last 5 minutes!" BS that we get sometimes. I remember they did that with New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine too, which was super disappointing.

Should I have recorded the rest of it? I just watch PD, much less interested in firemen and doctors and lawyers.

Alvin had a huge role in all 3 episodes last night. It's up to you really but you really kind of have to watch all 3 for closure I suppose. The Justice one was predictable though and I'm not a fan of court junk either. I just like that Antonio is on it.

But the Fire episode had PD and Med in it. The Justice cast had like one scene near the end of it. Either that or it was towards the beginning of PD. As for the Justice episode, it had a lot of Alvin and Voight in it but most of the Fire and Med were absent.

There are 10 episodes total, all of which are being directed by Esmail. (The delayed premiere date — seasons one and two debuted in July — gives Esmail more time to clean up the scripts; last season was, at times, very messy.) Additionally, the wonderful B.D. Wong, who plays Dark Army leader “Whiterose,” has been bumped up to a series regular, and Boardwalk Empire‘s Bobby Cannavale has joined the cast as Iriving, “a laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman.” As if there’s any other kind of used car salesmen.
