All Things: TELEVISON

I don't recall Hap toting Trudy around in the book. Maybe I just forgot about it. Otherwise, it sounds like they are following the book relatively closely again. Now I want to go back and find season 1, but I have so much on my watch list!

It's streaming on netflix

Hap & Leonard:Mucho Mojo sure got started nicely. And, like I remember about the books, the story and characters mature the further along it gets. and MAN, it's nice to see Brian Dennehy. Where has he been? Semi-retired? Thankfully I don't remember the details of the story cause it's been a long time since I read it, so it's all a great surprise.

So on 24 Legacy last night, they finally advertised the return of Prison Break. It starts next Tuesday. April 4th at 9 PM! :woot:

And speaking of 24... last night's episode was stupid as ****. Terrorists were like 5 minutes away from CTU and then Eric Carter had to defuse a bomb strapped to a woman. At 8:19 PM he asked CTU how long it would take for a bomb squad to come and defuse it. CTU said "They're 20 minutes out". So Eric goes, "Well that's too long! I'll have to do it myself!" Then he doesn't show up on screen again until 8:40... which was 20 minutes later and then he starts to defuse it himself. Bomb squad never arrived.

That kind of writing drives me nuts. But I keep telling myself, "Hey, this is 24 Logic at its finest. You need to laugh at the stupidity of it."

Just 3 more episodes left... Tony Almeida has been back for like 3 episodes already but has done jack squat. Honestly, the only way 24 Legacy can redeem itself is if I see Tony and Eric kick ass together and take down the big baddies of the season.

super pumped for Prison Break. Total guilty pleasure.

I have 3 episodes of 24 saved, and I can't get myself to run them. It's been pretty unwatchable this year.

Non-Bauer 24 is pretty much real 24, which involves a definitely degree of ridiculousness. I love how easy it is to break into CTU, and how completely useless the alleged "lock down" they ordered was.

I am excited for the Prison Break level of ridiculousness. Haven't heard anything about the guy who was an evil agent the first season but changed sides and then got killed but wasn't really killed and ended up running for congress or something. Is he coming back? Always found that character interesting.

Exploring the complex male relationships of ?Hap and Leonard?

This is three eps in so far and I think it's better than the first season largely since it builds on the friendship that was presented in the first one. And the story feels more Southern Gothic to me. And it is close to the novel as far as I remember.

What I do remember from the novel, is that like in the show, Hap is attracted to the Black lawyer, but is intimidated because he has never been with a a Black woman and thinks that she might be used to "bigger" guys. And Leonard is like, White peckers, oh those little things? Of course, I remember that, well, because I thought, if you can't talk about the difference or sizes between different color peckers with your Gay best friend, then what can you talk about? mhihi: :manybeers:

G-d, I think I was a teenager when I read that book. Not that I have matured since then, mind you! ;)

I guess there is more banter in the novels than in the show, but the show does capture the feel and tone of the dialogue.

Agree completely...except about the big black dingus thing.

Everyone seems more comfortable this time around. And, while there is still some outrageous plotting...it feels more grounded than the first season. But the books were the same. Started out simple, grew and matured, and in the later books, got too complex. Purefoy And Williams are both surprisingly well cast and they really do have a nice chemistry.
