I have missed several games lately because when the alternative to watching is doing something else, something else is often better.
At this point, peeling potatoes for the sake of peeling potatoes seems like a better past time. :>
I believe you want to trade at the deadline, teams seem to overpay at that time.
Depends. Trading at the deadline for expensive players with term extending into the following (or beyond) season has significant cap implications that can complicate the roster construction in the long run.
Some teams may be in for the last hurrah or two, which means players like Fiala may not be what they're looking for.
Some teams may not feel like they're ready yet for massive spending at the deadline (young up-and-coming teams that overperform based on the past seasons and might still have quite glaring holes that can't easily be fixed at the deadline).
This season, Perry and Kuzmenko for sure. Both have had stretches of good play and would demand at least a 2nd rounder in return, maybe with another later round pick attached. Oilers need depth desperately. I'm sure they would love either.
Moverare - he could find a taker or two.
The almost-UFA Doughty, Kuemper, Armia, Foegele, Forsberg - both Armia and Foegele have value this season as they're quite cheap, though Foegele has a down year. But I doubt any of them get traded, as the Kings may want to choose to be "lightweight sellers" (Perry, Kuzmenko) this season in order to keep the hope alive.
DD is quite expensive and has a limited number of teams that can trade for him due to his NMC. I doubt Doughty has a taker willing to overpay a lot this season, though to be fair the Leafs have found a bit of their groove and may be desperate enough...but they have no 1st pick until 2028 (though to be fair that could be a lottery pick) and their prospect pool is that much more depressing than the Kings'. The only interesting option are Danford and Koblar (born in Slovenia, so Kopitar may have a say here, though he plays for Norway, so maybe he doesn't care) who is a big center already holding his own in SHL and playing for the national team and producing there.
IMO the Kings don't fully dismantle the team this season, no matter how bad their record is come deadline. If we're lucky Ken won't be a desperate buyer...
