Bergevin Leaving Kings for Asst GM Role in Buffalo

Nice! I saw him as the Kings “buddy” that often asked to “crash” in the office and steal all your food. He was hiding in LA until his rep was better and some team would take a chance on him. Oh Buffalo, will you even learn? If you won’t, Kings will take some of your young talent off your hands!

Seriously, we should have -traded- this very, very valuable -asset- named Marc Bergevin to the Sabres for something of equitable value. Lets say, a 2nd round pick? ;)

I gotta say the segment of Bergevin was very interesting. Hovan confirms this was a move to appease Holland.

The argument that Bergevin was a "voice of reason" and losing him is a bad thing for the Kings Organization is a relatively flimsy one without including actual examples.

Curious, was Bergevin the "voice of reason" when Montreal decided to draft Logan Mailloux?

1) No one else has have even hinted at that before
2) This team moves only got weirder with him around - trading Quick, PLD, retaining Hiller. Despite initial success, Kuzmenko was still a dumpster dive trade and I’d call that odd too.
3) Blake’s moves prior to Bergevin weren’t weird. He was building something. There was hope, once.
4) If Bergevin was the voice of reason, Hoven is suddenly throwing shade on Blake retrospectively who he’s been covering hard for these 8 years.

Which brings it to the weirdest part where for the first time he hinted that Luc has too much control over team decisions. Therefore Bergevin kept Luc in check.

Regardless of whatever influence Bergevin had or not, that’s an interesting moment. It only took a failed rebuild and an unwatchable team for Hoven to finally get a little honest.

What struck me about the whole pod/episode was how angry Hovan sounded from start to finish. Has he finally seen enough of this dog**** product?

Credit where it’s due - he said fans have a right to be angry watching this. We haven’t gotten that from him in years and years. If ever? Often his criticisms of the team come well after failure has already been acknowledged by the front office itself and changes made.

On that note i can’t keep up with it all but Jesse is bringing appropriate emotions and analysis to the post-game and post-practice bits he does. At least for us the Kings no longer employing him has turned out to be a boon.

You know things are bad when the shills are finally having their Mad As Hell… moment.

Yeah he tried presenting the Lic has too much power as a hypothetical way that fans may see it, but by the end it sure sounded like that’s what he himself was saying.

Till Mr. Anschutz starts paying attention and hearing and feeling the disinterest coming from hardcore fan base and realizes that this team has run ot course under Lucs direction and fires him and brings in a Top Nhl president this team will continue to be a boring middle of the pact team.
Really to bad none of this stuff even get to the ownership group.

20 minutes in and Hoven and Co still sound like a bunch of sycophants.

Could you imagine if this team had Toronto media covering them and not these glazers and Carrlyn? How disingenuous are these POS'es? They'll talk about how this is a playoff team and the fans are being dramatic in wanting changes and then 5 minutes later the discussion is how the Kings will lose in the first round yet again.

I could only listen to 31 minutes. I felt like I was getting dumber by the minute listening to that clown show.
