From Mayor’s Manor earlier today:
“9am Pacific Time — According to various sources we’ve connected with, Björnfot has some severe soreness and a broken nose, yet all news has been fairly encouraging thus far. Further, he did not need to stay overnight at the hospital. No decision had been made yet regarding his status for upcoming games with the Reign. After LA’s team doctors evaluate Björnfot this afternoon, if it is determined he should go on injured reserve, the Kings can do that even though he’s on an AHL conditioning assignment. That would essentially pause the two-week window and still allow for him to ‘finish’ his conditioning assignment once he is cleared by team staff and activated from IR (which would be a minimum of seven days). The original plan was for Bjornfot to play three more games with the Reign — Friday and Saturday in San Jose, then wrapping up with a home game against Tucson next Tuesday.”
