***Boston Bruins vs. LA Kings GDT 1/5/23 7:30pm on BSW***

That was a huge two points last night as the Pacific just got a bit tighter.

You can often get PR seats for nosebleed seat prices. That's pretty cheap.

Well I never see that. Those PR's listed here at LGK are way more than seats in the 300s, and stubhub has been even more, especially when you add in the fees. Maybe if you purchase after the game starts. Right now nosebleed seats at stubhub for the Sharks on Wednesday are about $60 per ticket. PR seats are are about 110 to 160 per ticket.

You don't see it because you're looking at the wrong sites. Look at SeatGeek, TickPick, Vividseats, megaseats. I see a single PR 10 in row 1 for $46 for the Sharks right this minute, all in. The Sharks are a popular ticket but you could've gotten better deals a few weeks ago. For example, there are dozens of PR tickets for Buffalo for under or just over $50 right now.

I had the Bruins fan behind me in 304 who kept trying to loudly start the Let's Go Bruins chant. That was lovely. I also had 4 of them to the right of me. The one in the seat closest kept asking me how it has been with Bruins fans in the past and at one point wanted to know if the Bruins were the road team most away fans turned out for when playing us. I told him no way - that honor goes to the Detroit Red Wings and their fans. I would also say Toronto and Chicago fans turnout at least as much as Boston, and probably more so. And I then reminded him that the main reason there are so many Bruins fans here tonight is because the team is dominating this year and you are winning. But during leaner years, Boston is middle of the pack in terms of fan turnout at the crypt (Staples). Just my humble observation. He didn't believe me.

I always dreaded the Canucks games when the Sedins were at their peak. Their fans were incredibly obnoxious and it was at a time when it was cheaper to catch a flight from BC to LA, tix in 300s plus dinner for less than the cost to see the Canucks play at GM Place/Rogers.

I stepped away from the game, by chance, when it was 2-2.

Goes to show that even a dork like me can make a good choice every now and then. Even if it's by chance. mhihi: :rolleyes2:

Especially with Seattle having 5 games on hand

The Kings cannot afford to loose many games. especially with the teams below them having 4 or more games on hand. The Avs will get health here pretty quick and will make a strong run too.

Thanks for the recon on where to buy cheaper secondary market tix. I usually use StubHub and AXS. Great to know there are cheaper markets.

Oh god yes. I was at all three games during ‘10 VAN series. Obnoxious to their bones. I remember telling one guy in his vintage styled jersey with the hockey stick I preferred the version with the golf club. He was a rare good-natured one and said “You can’t trust your goalie.” I have no illusions he remembered our conversation but I have no doubt he was surprised by Quick in following seasons.

He was right about Quick in 2010. He WAS shaky during that series. My how things changed the next couple of seasons. :)

As for numbers of opposing fans, I don't think any would top the number of Canucks fans who would regularly invade Staples during that era. I remember after one such game (for which the Canuck fans had charted busses to drive fans down from Vancouver), DL promised there would never be that many Canucks fans in Staples again. That is what made 2012 so sweet, among many other things.

Watching on TV - what 90% Bruins fans in the crowd? Every non-Kings fan in LA owns a jersey for every team so they can wear whoever has more points to the game. I've literally seen someone take off another teams jersey that was ranked higher than the Kings, once the Kings had a 3-4 goal lead, and they had a Kings jersey under the other teams jersey - at the Staples Center. Sad.

Having watched this game.. wtf is Byfield doing on the 1st line, or on the Kings at all? I don't see anything from the kid. Trade him while his value is maybe something. Guy skates in circles and throws away the puck every time he gets it. Sell Edler for nothing and trade Byfield for a reasonable defenseman. Please.

Agreed, in my eyes, Byfield was responsible for two of the goals against in this game. I don’t know what it is, but the kid can skate, stickhandle, and shoot. He just can’t play hockey. I noticed the very same thing when he played in the WJCs, so I’m truly puzzled how he was a dominant scorer in juniors.

I know nothing about developing players but I've watched hockey a long time - and yeah, "cant play hockey" defines his game, at least at the NHL level. He looks totally lost. I hope with "time" that he gets better.. but he looks so downtrodden when he plays, no excitement, no energy - I just don't see it. Guy falls over every other shift and looks injured/sick again, like he wants back down in the minors.

Out of his depth, for certain. It seems like the best bet would be to let him stew in the AHL for a full season, as he was starting to show signs of dominance down there. It’s definitely not unheard of for superstars to need to brew there for a while, a la Draisaitl, and I don’t see that he brings much to this team. Trevor Moore can take his spot on the top line when healthy, and I’d rather the Kings invest in Byfields potential down the line, than see him bring nothing much to an above average NHL roster. Maybe the brain trust feels it’s better to just let him adjust to the speed and decision making of the NHL while on the job..hopefully they are making the right decision here.
