***Calgary Flames vs. Los Angeles Kings GDT 2/28/26 >>4:00pm<< on FanDuel & NHL Network***

Sounds like even the refs got bored and wanted the game to end quickly :)
I figured we were game 1 of 2 on Hockey Night in Canada and they wanted to be sure our game was done for the "Main Event" to start on time. Don't know if this was actually the case, but it was the only reason I could think of for the 4pm start.

So… I don’t want to say this, but we’re a bit better without Doughty right? It’s not that he can’t be an important part of this team - it’s that he is not used properly. Canada used him the only way you can.- by understanding he has a positive effect on team
Morale BUT can no longer play the big minutes because when he does, we lose and that kinda ruins that morale.

It’s totally ok to say it, as I’m pretty sure you and I have both been suggesting it for quite a while now.

We have a gold medal losing Makar?

I know I just hate for it to come across as dunking on Doughty. He’s always working hard. He’s going to want the minutes and take what he’s given, but literally we’d be better off with him not playing than being on the first pair. We certainly said it last year and no doubt, it’s why Gavrikov left.

Actually rolling the same 4 lines throughout a full game was probably driving Hiller to the verge of a mental breakdown.
Now “best” is a very low bar this year, but Kings have played some of their best hockey when there have been multiple injuries. Hiller is forced to distribute minutes like an actual NHL coach. I agree it’s gotta have him white-knuckles the whole time.

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed a final of 2-0 and/or that Panarin would remain goalless:

Big congrats to SirJW as the only poster to collect both points. Obviously the move with Hiller overshadows anything from the game last night. Not sure what to make of it now but I guess we see how this goes. All the injuries might be forcing this teams hand.

I'm going to have a positive attitude today.

If the Kings win, I'll be happy for my team. One game closer to the seemingly impossible playoff spot.

If the Kings lose, I'll be happy we're one game closer to dropping Hiller and getting a good draft pick.
I'm going to reply to myself, because sometimes you get BOTH your wishes.
