Can Anyone Beat the Avs in a Seven Game Series?

Rog or Reg?

Super Star
I said it two months ago, and I'll say it again: I don't think anyone can beat Colorado in a seven game series.

That team has no glaring weaknesses. They're big. They're fast. They're well coached. And they play as a team. All their parts mesh well together, not unlike a human chain-link fence.

Having said that, when the Kings are dialed in, they can beat anyone, including the Colorado Avalanche.

But it won't be easy. To beat this team, you have to play perfect ice hockey. The Avs are one well-oiled machine.

You give them too much credit as they crushed a depleted Dallas team tonight.

Well if we get through the Pacific, and COL emerges victorious through the Central, WE would have home advantage in the WCF, and out of the East, only TOR & WASH would have home advantage over us in the SC. I like our chances this year. Of course one step at a time...

The Average series length is 6 games.

To swing the latter games your way, you have to ramp up the physicality in Games 1 & 2. Get the hitting on early and set the tone. The little knocks and bumps that you can get on them early add up and are exemplified as a series drags on, and in the latter stages, swing the advantage your way. Put the puck in the corner, and put them through the boards. Puck ret-trieval is secondary.

Didn’t see enough of it in either game yesterday.

Out of curiosity, I did a quick check on the sports books and ESPN, and apparently the Avs are favored to win it all in Vegas and by the majority of the ESPN 'experts'.

Yeah, Dallas was shorthanded for sure...but Colorado looks pretty solid. They are peaking at the right time, and that's what's most important. Just look at the 2012 Kings. Same deal. The Kings got hot at the right time.

I'm not saying the Avs are unbeatable, but they will be a tough out. However with the Kings depth, we may end up being one of their greatest challenges...if we get that far. Right now I am laser focused on the Oilers and tomorrow night. This is as excited as I've been for a game in a long time.

Dallas will eliminate them.

BTW ,freaking clown Charles Barkley predicted that Edmonton will win in finals vs Toronto 😂 and before that he put Vegas logo upside down.
Why they are trying to ruin NHL after him and Shaq completely embarrassed "Inside the NBA "
We now can relax Kings will eliminate Oilers because he's guarantee in NBA usually completely opposite

Whole TSN crew picked some Canadian teams to win the cup, they doing it every year, Gretzky played in Edmonton and won multiple Stanley cups, but Barkley is completely different

You'll have to excuse my confusion, but isn't that an ex basketball player?

I don't watch basketball at all, not collegiate or the pros, and I haven't since I was a kid. I'm a hockey fan first and foremost, and since the seasons run concurrently, I couldn't care less about what happens with basketball. I don't even know who the good teams or star players are.

And what does Charles Barkley have to do with the NHL?

I also said it 2 months ago. They got healthy around the time MacK scored number 1000. They have the goaltending, the defense, and they added to the forwards at the deadline. They were my bracket pick.

Excellent! That's the biggest indicator yet that the Oilers are out in round one!

I'm surprised how many people are picking the Oilers. I think the Kings are going to give Edmonton all they can handle in the first round.

Interestingly, the experts over at ESPN Playoff Central have the Kings winning in seven games.

I'm going to go one better and say the Kings take the series four games to two.

Needless to say, tomorrow night's game is absolutely huge. In my always humble opinion, I say the key to the series is taking game one at home.

I think this could be the Kings year. The series comes down to 2 things. First is LD's health. The second is how bad do the Kings special teams hurt their 5 on 5 dominance. For the first time in years, I have the Kings in my bracket. Darcy is the best goalie we have had since Quick.
