***Carolina Hurricanes vs LA Kings GDT 3/22/25 1:00pm on FanDuel***

Did anyone have Orlov to score first for the Canes? I figured it would be an ex-King (Walker) if it came from a defenseman.

With Moore looking dangerous again, I sure do like seeing a 3 scoring line offense again. And that 4th line is strongly contributing every game. Back in the preseason, I remember posting that the Kings would not be complete until Helenius was permanently installed at 4C. Sammy's been making me look real good so far!😀

7-1 LA! Fiala scores from Ferry's pass! Share the wealth! And that's all she wrote for Carolina.

Oh, but then, Carolina quickly answers back, 7-2. Well, too little too late for them because that's a meaningless garbage time goal.

Game over. Other than two allowed goals by Rittich, including one in garbage time, this was possibly his best game in net this season. Which was really good for him since otherwise, he became this season's Jeff Zatkoff. And all 12 forwards from LA get a point in this game; that's a real rare feat. Now time to feast on Boston tomorrow.

I hope they go to a shootout against the Sharks tonight.

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed Kempe, nobody guessed Orlov:

Was at the beach for this one and it was amazing how fast the kings dismantled them on the radio and twitter. Right back at it again tomorrow, lets hope they still have some goals left!

Right now, the Kings have once again leapfrogged Deadmonton for second place in the Pacific Division, but Deadmonton has a game in hand tonight against Seattle. I hope Deadmonton loses to this lowly Seattle team. And Calgary just beat the Biles in OT earlier. If things were to get more interesting in the race for the standings in the division, hopefully Deadmonton falls off later this month and maybe next month while their provincial rivals Calgary take over their spot by consistently winning games (though not too consistently as to threaten LA's playoff hopes). If Calgary makes the playoffs this season, I want to see them draw Deadmonton in the first round and hopefully they knock off Deadmonton that round in another chapter of the Battle of Alberta.

As pessimistic as I was about this team at the end of the February I must admit the level of play they’ve displayed this month has got me thinking there’s at least a viable path for a deep playoff run.

The Kings offense finally looks like it has some life and the defense looks strong to elite most nights. Kuemper has been a great pickup.

If the Kings go into round one with 4 lines, multiple 30 goal scorers and a healthy blue line, a Conference Final berth seems realistic.
