***Carolina Hurricanes vs LA Kings GDT 3/22/25 1:00pm on FanDuel***

I never truly grasped how big Clarke is until the pregame video today of him and Kopi walking in with the kids. He doesnt give up much size to Kopitar at all. Of course, neither of those guys play like they are 6’3”, 200+ pounds, but it’s been evident over the years that opposing players don’t go out of their way to make body contact with Anze. Likely due to his massive size. Clarke, on the other hand, seems to get pushed around quite a bit. Probably due to a mix of not having gotten his ‘man strength’ yet, and also being a relatively shaky skater.

Kopi doesn't hit to his size but he definitely uses his size to hang onto the puck.

Just watched the replay. Wow. The Kings aren't just beating the best teams in the league, they're beating them while they are on eight game winning streaks.

Some impressions...

... surprised to see the lower bowl so empty at puck drop, although it did fill up as the game went on...

...awesome 2-fer hit by Helenius, my favorite play of the game...

...as I predicted, Kuz got his first goal as a King...

... the Canes did a great job plugging up the neutral zone but the Kings were very opportunistic and buried their chances...

...and the posts were kind today. Finally.

I would have loved to have gone to this one, but 1:00pm starts are No Bueno on a Saturday.

I believe all of our forwards scored today, and if we keep this up. we're going to become a very dangerous team

Was at the beach for this one and it was amazing how fast the kings dismantled them on the radio and twitter. Right back at it again tomorrow, lets hope they still have some goals left!
I should always say, "except you can't pick Kempe"

As pessimistic as I was about this team at the end of the February I must admit the level of play they’ve displayed this month has got me thinking there’s at least a viable path for a deep playoff run.

The Kings offense finally looks like it has some life and the defense looks strong to elite most nights. Kuemper has been a great pickup.

If the Kings go into round one with 4 lines, multiple 30 goal scorers and a healthy blue line, a Conference Final berth seems realistic.
Do we allow this kind of optimism around here?? :)

Edmondson's play recently has me concerned. He's not nearly as assertive as he was earlier in the season. Hopefully, he plays through it and returns to form.

Clarke's choices from deep in his own zone continue to worry me. He's taking a split second too long to make a decision, and against aggressive forechecking teams, that is a problem.

Nice game, was there earlier with my 5 year old son so it was "fun", can't remember seeing 6 Kings goals live, that was sweet! Had to leave before the 3rd for my son's Mommy/Son dance event. Think the first period Kings got lucky scoring 3, some sloppy Kings plays throughout the two periods. Lot of Canes pressure, impressed Kings kept fighting and BSD came up big. Tomorrow should be interesting, Oilers looking at a win now so its not getting any easier. Happy Birthday Bailey and GO KINGS GO!!!!!

Boo, the Soilers beat the Kraken 5-4. Deadmonton has regained second place in the division. They keep finding ways to win. I know the Kraken suck this season but they nearly stuck it to the Soilers in that game.

What a game! I had to watch the recorded game. Very busy day, finally picked up my storage in California. Got up at 4 AM and not finished until 8:30 PM back here in Arizona. Very looong day! What a way to finish my day, seeing Rittich coming up big when he needed and goals galore! Keep it going boys!

I watched the 1st period & some of the 2nd before heading to work & then watched the rest on my breaks. So during a 10 minute break I saw goals from Moore, Jeannot, & Byfield to make it 6-0. So that was fun. The whole game was fun. If you combine the Kings home record with how they do against top opponents, this is the result. A nice swift ass kicking. Of all the highlights, my 3 were Kuzmenko getting his 1st point & then his 1st goal. Then Laf getting an assist on the last goal so that he wouldn't be the only forward not to score. And finally Rittich. Goaltending maybe gets lost when there's 7 goals. But he was outstanding. He kept us in the game early. He needed this performance. What's also good is that nobody got a crazy amount of ice time more or less than anybody else. Especially on defense. that way they can be fresh tonight against Boston
