This actually looks like where things are headed. Kings are in a Wild Card spot at the moment. The Kings are 1 of 6 teams that have a single digit number of Regulation Wins. There are 2 teams with 7 RW's, and 4 with 9 RW's. Kings have 9. That puts them at best, 27th overall in the league.

The inability of the D to transition the puck to the forwards and get it up ice has really impacted the offence. Hard to get rush chances and solid zone entries when you can't get the puck out of your zone in a timely manner. Hiller was asked about this a few games ago and admitted it has been an issue. I think Gavy was pretty good at pushing play and the puck out of the zone. Seems like he just had a mindset to move the puck and was willing to skate it up more than Dumo. Losing Spence has hurt the Kings in this regard as well. The forwards not supporting the D could also attribute to this issue.

Darcy's solid play is the main reason this team is even in the playoff picture. With him out, this will get ugly real fast.
