From the looks and sounds of everything, all Kings players made it through Day 1 of training camp cleanly, sans defenseman Angus Booth.
Late in the first period of Thursday’s scrimmage, Booth went hard into the boards down low and immediately began writhing in pain. The 21-year-old rearguard had to be helped off the ice without putting any pressure on his right leg.
Later in the afternoon, coach Jim Hiller was unable to provide an update on his status. Although Booth will not be available today, we’ll have to wait for further information.
Clearly, it wasn’t the start he had hoped for.
