Took this last Saturday while we were walking around the Getty at sunset trying to find a place to take my daughter's 5th birthday portraits.

It got a nomination for "Picture Of The Week" in the Los Angeles group on Flickr.

Took a trip today up to Fort Tejon today to watch the Civil War reenactments. I specifically went with an eye towards portraiture and making things look like they looked in the old photographs from those days. That is easier said than done. I couldn't find a Lightroom preset I liked, but I managed to scrape a little something together in terms of treatments. Here's the first attempt:

The real bitch of this thing was to try and take pictures so that there was nothing in the background that could be identified as "present day."

More here.

Not sure I like that treatment. I might redo it.

okay, I have been away for a while due to school, but now that summer is here and I am playing Mr. Mom, I will have more time for this stuff. Here are some recent pics:

Can't beat family pics!

The last one looks a little washed out. Might want to adjust the contrast/saturation levels.

I agree with the last letter, that it does look a little washed out (I did not take these, it was for my Father's Day gift with no editing done on them)
