You picked a couple good prime lenses there. Those are keepers even if you decide to move on to bigger and better bodies.
Shoot RAW. Process in Aperture or Lightroom. Even no-flash, there's more data in your images if you shoot RAW.
I think most cameras allow you to update the firmware but simply putting a file on your memory card and sticking it in your camera. As far as updating an older model, there may not be anything to update, as the updates stop coming out fairly soon after release. They want to you buy a new camera, not get more mileage out of the camera you already have. How often do you all update the firmware on your DLSR's? Do you do it your self or send it in? How important is it especially for an older model?

I think I could take the set off your hands for $100 or so. That seems reasonable...My buddy's dad recently came across some camera equipment he bought in a storage auction. Yeah...like Storage Wars. Since I know a little about cameras, he put me in charge of trying to sell it. Does anyone know the proper channels are places to sell used equipment? I have the stuff here and it looks like it's in pretty good shape. Looks like scored with this find. Here is the list of items I'm looking at:
Nikon D3x Camera Body
AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm 1:2.8G ED Lens
AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm 1:2.8G ED Lens
AF-s Nikkor 70-200mm 1:2.8GII ED Lens
Any help???
