How does this affect Fiala’s NHL contract and Kings LTIR pay since he was injured at the Olympics and not during an NHL game? Could the Kings not pay him for breaching his contract or something similar?
He will be available for ltir, a big part of the cba negotiation was the insurance rates with IIHF so this would be covered and not impact hrr, no the contract cannot be cancelled

Everyone wants the NHL to be in the Olympics thus the rush to pre-emptively defend him before the GM and franchise blowback.
The truth is Wilson displayed a slew foot between the legs with an intentional distinct kicking motion,
And the Olympics does not want to lose the NHL so they will go along with no suspension.
Holland is more likely to make a trade now , not less.
I have never seen a player control destintaion and price like Panarin just did.
So that won't happen again.
However, I would put low ball offers out there for a center.
Including Petrsson, and UFA's like: Hayes, Lee, Schmalz, Coyle, Dickinson, even RFA redemprion projects like Dach , Perfetti. No one older than Panarin.
I'd be willing to give a first, and whichever of our young big 3 goalie prospects, Ran for thinks is on the worst regression, NHL trajectory curve. Maybe Slutnsky because he may stay in college and go back to the draft.
Plus another fringe player or prospect.
