Florida Panthers exec appears to post vulgar rant on X, calling Canada 51st state

Douglas Cifu, a high-ranking Florida Panthers executive, made several disturbing comments on social media after beating the Maple Leafs.

Douglas Cifu, the team’s vice chairman, partner and alternate governor, appeared to take shots at a Leafs fan and Canada in general, while commenting on the conflict between Israel and Palestine in screenshots taken of posts that have now been made private.

“Eat s*** 51st state anti-semite loser. Israel now and forever. Until ever (sic) last Hamas rat is eliminated,” the X account allegedly belonging to Cifu posted.​

Very surprised the league stood up for decency.

This guys says this kind of garbage in a twitter fight with a "random"......he must be a real piece of work in his daily life with the people who know him.

I'm sure you have seen what Israel has been doing to Gaza and Palestinians over the past couple of years now. Funny how Zionism and Nazism make strange bead fellows.

Nazism at it's core is far-right totalitarian ideology, characterized by extreme nationalism, racism, and the belief in the superiority of their race.

They way this clown spouted of on twitter, I'd say he fits the Nazi mold perfectly.

“Two days ago, I posted regrettable and inflammatory comments on social media,’’ Cifu wrote in a statement.


“My behavior does not reflect the standards of the Florida Panthers organization and the Viola family.

“I sincerely apologize to all those affected by my comments. I am committed to working with the NHL to amend my actions.”

I’m a history and social science teacher, so I think I know at least a bit about political ideologies. But I don’t know what more this numbnut has said, so I’ll leave that discussion.

I just think that so many people today totally lacks a historical awareness and just shout rasist, Nazi and genocide without having the necessary knowledge and information to use those powerful words. Or at least they used to be powerful before they were constantly misused and devalued like today…

But as said, this should be a place free from boring political discussions! So let’s get back to more fun stuff like wishing Hiller should be fired and being worried over Luc’s latest hiring of an old friend of his…

That's so weird that someone on this LGK's staff is pro accountability, since I've made a complaint to the site owner and have been straight up ignored. Is it because I'm a woman? Or, the rules apply to me but not staff members? Not sure... your move rinkrat.

Wow. Teachers make me nervous. But I did just watch that Danish movie with Mads Mikkelsen "Another Round" and was fascinated by the teaching style in high school. Kudos. I know you're Swedish, so forgive the connection but, hopefully you are hearing the compliment. =)

I totally see where you're coming from here, BUT...looking at the descriptions of those words, they are all very fitting in case of what's going on over there, except maybe for "racist", since they're mostly all of semitic race anyway. Is there a word for "religious supremacy", basically nationalistic but more in the religious sense? I'd add that to the Nazi-like and genocidal more than "racist".

Also, I'm sure many Germans during pre-WW2 period were also "let's not talk about politics, let's just enjoy the beer". They did have beer during those times, right?

I would say it’s the perfect one. This world is crazy and hateful as it is, just nice to see that this place can stay away from all the BS going on in the real world…

Agreed. I'm not this upbeat and positive in the real world(although I am this funny) because, reality, obvi but I do enjoy being that version of myself around here, glad we found more common ground. Okay dude..keep your head up. =)

Sure. It's just that by the time you amassed a wheelbarrow full of marks to buy the beer and then shuffle off to the bar with your wheelbarrow full of marks to actually buy the beer, the price had doubled and you could no longer afford it.
