I do exactly this as well. It can be annoying as you know when they come back from commercial breaks slightly out of phase but the effort on this is still worth while.

Always attempt to listen for the stick slapping the puck sound to match up play ... but then Josh will say something like "10:00 left in the period" ...while my TV says it's 9:55 left....like does he round up or round down?
