Buckle up, hockey is back!
Just as the summer-like heat wave came to an end late this week in Los Angeles, it’s time to turn the page from NHL offseason to Kings Rookie Camp. And it all gets going in a rather big way this weekend, as the 2024 NHL Rookie Faceoff tournament comes to Toyota Sports Performance Center.
Friday’s initial trio of games will reach a crescendo during a nightcap featuring the host Kings and visiting Golden Knights. While the two clubs have been frequent opponents at the annual showcase event, they did not meet up when Vegas hosted the Rookie Faceoff last season. However, they did play each other in San Jose back in 2022, where this happened:

On a brand-new Kings Of The Podcast episode that just dropped, Brandt Clarke spoke about that moment in detail, as well as VGK’s Mark Stone, and a myriad of thoughts he has heading into this season.
There have also been two other KOTP episodes of late that tie into the Rookie Faceoff tournament:
KOTP with Koehn Ziemmer
KOTP with LA AGM Nelson Emerson
