I’m so glad the league ended the salary cap.Rakell for Turcotte and a pick?
They could get close to affording his $3.8 million if the waive burroughs, trade turcotte and somehow Pitt to retain some salary...but I don't see that happening quite honestly. I really don't expect them to do much of anything, if anything, at all.I’m so glad the league ended the salary cap.
They can totally afford it.They could get close to affording his $3.8 million if the waive burroughs, trade turcotte and somehow Pitt to retain some salary...but I don't see that happening quite honestly. I really don't expect them to do much of anything, if anything, at all.
Curious on this:Rakell for Turcotte and a pick?
Rakell is a slick player but he needs a top end center to be effective in the NHL. This would be a desperation trade, to me, on behalf of the Kings if they really want to pull in a right shot forward at all costs knowing the Rakell has a history of disappearing in the playoffs.Curious on this:
Have you seen enough of Turcotte to feel like it’s time to cut him loose? He’s shown flashes of being worthwhile but does disappear at times, and we know his injury history.
I wouldn’t mind seeing more of him in a Kings jersey to be honest because I think he can play.
Agree with this. Some players produce during the season but can’t in the playoffs. It’s wise to understand which ones can’t.Rakell is a slick player but he needs a top end center to be effective in the NHL. I definitely would not give up Turcotte to get him, as, I agree with you we need more time to understand exactly what we have in him at the NHL level.
Please correct me if I can’t get this math straight. His cap hit is 5M and the Kings should have about 3M as-is at the deadline. But yes trading Turcotte and waiving Burroughs would get them close but still not be enough by that math either. They could get close to affording his $3.8 million if the waive burroughs, trade turcotte and somehow Pitt to retain some salary...but I don't see that happening quite honestly. You may be right. I googled his salary vs cap hit. The former said 3.8m but that could be wrong. Please correct me if I can’t get this math straight. Speaking of cap, doesn’t matter how much it goes up. Inexpensive young players whose play exceeds their contract value are a big part of any good team. Turcotte makes 775K the next two seasons. Further, the pipeline is thin on legit center prospects. May need him to take on that role before too long. Hopefully so, actually.
Okay wasn’t sure if I missing something, but yeah he makes 5M. Main point stands that you and I both recognize another contract has to go out to make this happen. You may be right. I googled his salary vs cap hit. The former said 3.8m but that could be wrong.
Exactly!I know we need scoring, but I’d rather make a big move this summer.
Marner Watch 2025 baby!Exactly!
The Kings will get a solid defensemen and a scoring winger during this trade deadline. They won't have to give up much, maybe a draft pick. I can't wait when Blake pulls it off. LGK will lose their mind. The Kings are so close to taking the next step.
He needs to go at the deadline before he starts wallowing into Kaliyev part feud!I am not ready to give up on Turcotte yet. I agree that he should be further along, but this is his first full year healthy with the big club.
Moore and a 2nd for Tuch for sure, although why would Buffalo do that???Drew needs to incur a ‘mystery injury’ at 4 nations that will keep him out on IR until April 18th. Then trade Moore and a 2nd to Buffalo for Tuch, and Turcotte and a 1st to Nash for marchessault.
