Help in NJ tonight? (traveling question)

Hey everyone
Kings fan in Ottawa, but heading to NYC for the weekend, arriving in Newark around 7 tonight and realized I could get to the game a little late and super cheap (according to ticket sites) Just go to game then Manhattan afterwards BUT wife pointed out we'd have our carry-on bags with us. Is there a solution to this problem? In Ottawa, as in most arenas I assume, I can't get in with bags for obvious reasons. Just wondering if there's an American fix I'm not aware of. Thanks! While I'm at it - how is MSG - will prices go down on day of and I can get pretty loudly pro-Kings here in Ottawa - I assume this could be more dangerous in NYC? Maybe that's just Canadian paranoia? Thanks everyone.

There should be luggage storage at the main transit hubs (I assume you're going to the station in Newark?) You may have to backtrack anyway, but that would be my recommendation. Be sure to check the post game train schedules to be sure the storage area's are accessible.

A lot of hotels & other places do bag storage for a minimal fee as well. There's a website to help to find places....be right back with a link for you

www.bounce.com

www.luggagehero.com

both of those will give you tons of places to store your luggage cheap!

Have fun...and some answers...

...no issue for rooting for the Kings in NYC. As long as you're not jumping in someone face and screaming "F*ck you, the Devils suck!" Just use common sense and root away...

...every entertainment and sports venue I have attended in the past decade, from coast-to-coast, allows a small clear plastic bag with a few approved items. Check the venue website, but it's usually a quart Ziploc-style baggie. But be warned: I have literally seen hundreds of fans turned away at the gate because they had large or non-clear bags.

As Nyssa pointed out, there are many options for bag storage, but DO NOT attmept to take your carry-on luggage into the venue!

And Go Kings Go!

this. Places like Port Authority have lockers and then you can go straight to the game via bus.

Last time I was in that building Carts popped one over Brodeur in OT. Ahh... memories. We were heckled like crazy before the game with our jerseys on. The crowd was pretty neutered after the game, however.

Of all the sporting events I've attended on the road, only had problems in Baltimore and Phoenix. Got heckled a lot, but it was all in fun...except for those two cities. With my wife in Tempe walking back to our hotel and two a-holes that had undoubtedly been drinking all day sitting on their tailgate in a remote lot came after us. It was pretty creepy. I told them if they assaulted us, they'd not only be in jail, they'd be subject to a civil suit and I'd own their house. That shut them down.

In Baltimore I was with my 10-year old nephew and we were confronted in the stadium restroom. Also pretty scary. We were able to walk away, but could not return to our seats because these morons sat behind us and we were already covered in beer. Watched the rest of the game standing in the upper concourse.

That's it though, and I've been to dozens of out-of-town games. But it only takes one drunken idiot to ruin a game.
