Hiller Hotseat Thread

Last night was the most obvious display that the team has now quit.

And Hiller’s desperate line blending was an indicator that he knows his time is almost up. Kopi was definitely exhausted by the third period as were most of the 7 or 8 forwards Hiller played for the 2nd and 3rd periods.

Things will only get uglier from here until the coach is replaced.

That playing hot potato with the lines in the 3rd was absolutely delusional.

But for the love of God!! How is it possible that this 🤡 isn’t fired yet…
One word answer: Luc.

The organization has been a disaster since he has been at the helm.
Poor choices for management over and over again.

I think he fears Danny B might well pull the plug on him in the offseason.

Fans should ask Santa for a front office clean out this offseason.

Trouble with that, is that Luc put a poison pill there that makes Danny B. think twice about firing him:
Holland. Dude has a 3 year deal. He is a poison pill.

So Danny B. is gonna fire Luc, but keep the GM that Luc hired, but also have this GM hire a new coach.
Then Danny B. has to find a new team president that will inherit the old GM guard and coach that Luc hired.

It really is horrific mismanagement. Surprised Danny B. and AEG allowed this to happen.
The organization is a management mess.

I'm sure the Kings don't want to pay yet another coach to not coach (and for any brass reading this, I am available and will accept a VERY reasonable salary to not coach the Kings). Still, Hiller is not Holland's guy and he just gave Hiller an endorsement, which is sort of an NHL equivalent of Michael giving Fredo a big smooch. We shall see.

Helenius won’t change much but this is one of the bigger signs that Hiller has learned nothing since his disastrous playoffs.
Yes, 100%. I’m not a member of the Helenius fan club, but the mistreatment of him and before that Turcotte is just more proof that our 🤡 for coach must go…

There was loud outcry in Edmonton for Dave Tippet’s firing. Holland didn’t do it until Feb 10, 2022. That was following a particularly bad winter slump. 7-13-3 in 23 games up to when Holland made the call.

So far Kings are:

15-12-9 overall.

8-7-5 in the last 20.

10-9-6 in the last 25.

5-7-5 in the last 17. That’s a bad trend following what was at best mediocre hockey. Even when Todd was fired Kings had been lights out til just about Christmas.

Never actually being good and scoring only one goal in a third of the games says now’s the time.

Only reason not to is management orders or Holland already sees the writing on the wall and is waiting for the summer to have maximum choices. But man Hiller is making it hard on him to not do something.
