Is Matt Roy Gone?

I think if they were going to sell his rights, they would have already. Either no team is willing to play, or after the draft plays out Blake may try to work some final deal with him.

They were saying on NHL radio today that according to some analysis firm that usually gets it pretty close to correct that he's going to get something like 5.8-6mil per on the open market.

Yep, heard 6mil being the number, but it depends on the term. Seems lots of teams are looking for exactly that type of player. Good for him.

Trading Roy at the deadline would have been a huge F U to the entire team. "You guys suck, we don't trust you, you're gonna lose anyway and we're giving up on you." Horrible, horrible message to send which will poison your team not just this season but for years. Teams going into the playoffs add players, never subtract. Name one team in the last five years which was in playoff position and traded away a top 6 forward or top 4 defenseman for picks at the deadline. Even a top 9 forward or top 6 defenseman. It's not done. There's a reason for that.

He shouldn’t be GM then…. He wasted an asset is order to save face so the team could squeak out one playoff win?

And you don’t know how Clarke may have played… think he could have gotten 2 assists? Is so then he matched Roy’s output.

Weird, in the middle of the night with the TV still on, I thought I heard that the Kings had re-signed him. Guess it was just a dream.
